Our Saturday International Action Best Bets

Whilst many groan at the thought of yet another international break, there are ways to get by and Saturday is by no means short of fixtures to feast your eyes upon.

With plenty up at stake at the tail end of the World Cup Qualification group stage, many will be fighting it out for that all important top of the group status and a place in the 2026 Fifa World Cup (so nothing too major then).

Having said that, we've put together a 4-fold for this Saturday, 15th of November for you to get involved with.

Research

On the international stage, with the fans pridefully cheering on their fellow countrymen, anything can happen. That is said with less confidence when the ranked #1 and current European Champions Spain show up to your Stadium, then we are likely to know what is going to happen. The Spaniards have been flawless in their opening four qualifiers, with four wins, fifteen goals scored and no goals conceded. Though the side will be without sensation Lamine Yamal who had kept his groin injury a secret from the Spanish Football Association, this provides opportunity for the likes of Ferran Torres and Oyarzabal to lead from the front. Spain have defeated Georgia in their last five matchups and look a safe bet to extend this record on Saturday evening.

Fellow group rivals Turkey have also shown strong form in their qualifying games, winning three of their four matches after a convincing defeat to a formiddable Spanish outlet. Turkey have averaged the sixth highest goals per game with 3.30 and netted six against upcoming opponents Bulgaria in the reverse fixture in Sofia. The group stragglers have yet to pick up a point so far this campaign and with only one goal to their name, it looks like a tough ask to reverse this trend as hopes of qualification is nothing but a distant memory.

Perhaps the most intruiging bet on the fold but a well-warranted one nonetheless as Kosovo have been a forced to be reckoned with in Group B. They have picked up seven points from a possible 12 so far, completing the double over Sweden and picking up an important piece in the first fixture against Slovenia who remain winless. Whilst the stats of that fixture favour the Slovenian side, Kosovo sit in the drivers seat for a spot in the FIFA Playoff Tournament at the very least, whilst having the ability to snatch the top spot off leaders Switzerland when they face off in the final fixture. They will not need any more inspiration, as Kosovo hope to make their first ever World Cup appearance.

Switzerland and Sweden face off on Saturday evening with hopes of completing the accumulator, as we think this one is set to provide quality entertainment in Graham Potter's first outing as Sweden boss. After a nightmare qualifying campaign for the Swedes, who currently sat rooted to the bottom of their group with one point, eyes will be on the returning Alexander Isak with more than a point to prove having had a slow start to his Liverpool career. The quality that the nation at hands is there to be seen, and Potter may be the man to get the best out of the National team starting on Saturday. Opponents Switzerland will be by no means a pushover, in fact victories in six of their last eight international matches is well warranted for top spot and a place in the World Cup at their mercy. Switzerland have been in fine scoring form in those match, scoring four goals in three straight matches. Two well matched sides going up against each other provides good reason to believe that there should be great entertainment in Lancy, as Sweden will come out with a point to prove and should feel the full effects of the new manager bounce here.
