The festive period is upon us - games every three days, transfer rumours swirling once again, and for football fans, a non-stop drip-feed of information on their favourite game for an entire month.
A dream for fans, a nightmare for players, and an overall stressful time for clubs as a whole - that’s how I would sum up the Christmas period.
One of Wednesday’s key fixtures sees league leaders Arsenal face Brentford in a London derby. The Gunners come into the game after a physical fixture with Chelsea at the weekend, which saw them fail to convert a man advantage into victory, and in the process, miss an opportunity to go seven points clear at the top.
The day previously, Brentford returned to winning ways with a dramatic 3-1 victory over Burnley which saw all four goals come inside the last 10 minutes of regulation time - in-form striker Igor Thiago got two of them, taking his Premier League tally to 11, just three behind Erling Haaland. If Brentford are to have a chance here, Thiago will need hit the same heights.
Arsenal could move eight points clear at the top if Man City, Chelsea and Aston Villa all slip up this week, while Brentford could climb as high as fifth if other results go their way - this is a game that could truly shake up the league table.
With so much on the line for both sides, it is only right for you to put something on the line too - tailored for both high-risk and low-risk, you can hand-pick your strategy from a list of Football Park’s best bets. So, without further ado, here is Football Park’s Arsenal vs Brentford bet builder.

Arsenal to Win: A straightforward, predictable first leg, Arsenal come into this one as heavy favourites. Brentford may be overperforming their pre-season expectations, but the Gunners have been showered in “best team in Europe” shouts, and it is easy to see why.
With both Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres back from spells on the sideline, Mikel Arteta will have some extra attacking firepower here, and with the likes of Saka and Madueke on the wings, Arsenal could look irresistible in the Brentford half here.
No Goals for Brentford: Though Igor Thiago has found the net five times in his last three league games (albeit three have been from the penalty spot), he arrives at the Emirates to face the best defence in the league, a backline capable of stopping the best strikers in the world.
David Raya leads the way in the clean sheet standings with seven from 13 games, and the Gunners' goal conceded tally stands at a measly seven, four fewer than any other team. Though the Bees have been efficient in front of goal this season, we see them drawing their third blank of the campaign here.
Over 3.5 Cards: It’s a London derby; tensions will be high, emotions will be heightened, and all that will accumulate into some bookings. With the hard-tackling Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi in the Arsenal midfield, and a Brentford squad featuring the likes of Jordan Henderson and Mathias Jensen, expect some rather physical challenges to be flying in.
High Risk
Surprise Draw: Looking at the game through a slightly different lens, Arsenal are no doubt going to be somewhat fatigued after playing four games in 10 days, and no amount of injury returns will be able to hide their tiredness. Brentford have played just twice in the same period and will come into the game with significantly more energy.
While we don’t think a Brentford win is likely, their proficiency in front of goal and their solid midfield and defensive foundation can cause Arsenal all manner of problems. If they get a long throw, don't be surprised to see Arsenal scrambling.
Merino With Another Goal: If our first leg were to come off and the game ended level, the game would no doubt descend into a gritty, physical struggle. These tough games are where Mikel Merino thrives - having scored in a titanic tussle with Chelsea on Sunday, it seems the Gunners' makeshift striker option has rediscovered his scoring form.
So good at making third-man runs from midfield, and a true threat in the air (seven of his nine Premier League goals have been headers), this is exactly the sort of the Spaniard will flourish in.
Over 2.5 Goals: With both sides dangerous from dead-ball situations, this game could be the battle of the set-piece gurus. Arsenal boast 10 goals from set pieces already this season, while Brentford lead the league for goals from long throws.
If Brentford can get off to a fast start, they will force Arsenal to come out of their shell, stretching the game and creating more openings for both sides. Seeing as we predicted a draw, we reckon the game will end 2-2.
