Football Park’s Week Of Betting | 2/12/25 | Free Leeds vs Chelsea Premier League Bet Builders

The festive period is upon us - games every three days, transfer rumours swirling once again, and for football fans, a non-stop drip-feed of information on their favourite game for an entire month.

A dream for fans, a nightmare for players, and an overall stressful time for clubs as a whole - that’s how I would sum up the Christmas period.

One of Wednesday’s key fixtures sees Leeds United host Chelsea, as the two sides revive their age-old rivalry which stretches back to a particularly violent FA Cup final meeting in 1970 - safe to say in the 55 years since, there is no love lost between the clubs.

Chelsea came away from the weekend clash with table-toppers Arsenal with tremendous credit, earning a point despite being a man down for an hour - Enzo Maresca’s side managed the game beautifully, and could even have come away with all three points if not for some wasteful moments in the first half.

Leeds similarly earned plenty of respect for their performance at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium on Saturday - trailing 2-0 at halftime, they dragged themselves back to a 2-2 scoreline and were only halted by a 91st-minute Phil Foden winner, which pushed them into the relegation zone.

A Chelsea win here could see them close the gap at the top to two points if other results go their way, while even a point for Leeds could move them back to safety. However, a defeat for the Whites could result in them being four points adrift from safety if both West Ham and Nottingham both win.

With so much on the line for both sides, it is only right for you to put something on the line too - tailored for both high-risk and low-risk, you can hand-pick your strategy from a list of Football Park’s best bets. So, without further ado, here is Football Park’s Leeds vs Chelsea bet builder.

Why We Are Backing This Bet

Low Risk

Chelsea Victory: Heavy favourites ahead of kick-off, it is no surprise this leg features in our safe bets section. Chelsea have started to look like the real deal in the last couple of games - they wowed in their win over Barcelona, and showed proper character in their feisty draw with Arsenal.

Combining this with a Leeds team who more often than not struggle to find the net, and Chelsea’s lack of goalless performances since their opening-day no-score draw with Palace, we can see Maresca’s men cruising to three points here.

Malo Gusto Defensive Masterclass: Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto never fails to get involved. After scoring his first Chelsea goal against Wolves last month, the Frenchman has really kicked on, and has put in a number of impressive performances since.

Most recently against Arsenal, Gusto was at his best, providing much-needed solidity on the right side of defence with four tackles, three recoveries, two interceptions and two clearances. While Leeds will not ask so much of him defensively, still expect him to chip in.

Plenty of Goals: Eight of Chelsea’s last 10 games have featured three goals or more, and moreover, Leeds boast an identical record - if you crunch the numbers, it pans out at an 80% chance that this game features over that figure.

History also lends credibility to this pick - of the last five meetings between the two sides, four have featured over 2.5 goals, and with the attacking talent on Chelsea’s cards, I can’t see them failing to reach that mark here

High Risk

Chelsea Win: Exactly the same as above - you want at least one banker leg even in your riskiest bet builders!

Cole Palmer to Score Anytime: This game marks a momentous moment for Chelsea - it marks the return of Cole Palmer, who, after three months out following groin surgery, was finally deemed fit enough to make the matchday squad at Arsenal.

Though he didn’t make it onto the field, partially due to the tactical changes made after the red card, he is hungry to get going, and a start against Leeds represents the perfect opportunity to pick up where he left off - he scored two in his last three games before injury.

Chelsea Cards: It’s been talked to death over recent months thanks to the Blues’ poor discipline, but backing Chelsea to receive three or more cards is more certain now than ever.

Chelsea’s immaturity is easy to see - they pick up pointless bookings for time-wasting, back-chatting to the referee, and needless challenges in zones of the pitch where there is absolutely no danger. Combine this youthful inexperience with their penchant for a red card, and this is a safer leg for a risky bet.

Lukas Nmecha On Target?: I know what you’re thinking - finally, a Leeds-related leg!! With much of the focus surrounding Chelsea, the Leeds side of things naturally went under the radar thanks to their more illustrious opponents.

Lukas Nmecha, brought from Wolfsburg in the summer, is the club's top scorer with league goals to his name, and three of them have come in his last three games. On top of this, he is on a run of four games with a shot on target, making him the most likely candidate to test Robert Sanchez here.
