Bet Builder Research

Low-Risk: If you couldn't already tell, we are expecting goals. Given the fact that Marseille has managed 17 goals in their last five matches, we might be onto something. The home side has scored 11 goals in the Champions League thus far, six of these coming at the Orange Velodrome. Marseille are the leading scorers in Ligue 1 this season, surpassing PSG with 41 goals in 19 matches. 24 of these goals have come at home, and it is hard to see them not getting on the scoresheet based on the form guides.

Mason Greenwood leads the scoring charts for his side. The Englishman has 12 goals to his name in 17 league matches, while managing three goals in this competition thus far. A case of if you don't buy a ticket, you won't win the raffle. The forward averages over four shots a game per 90 minutes this season, while nearing two shots on target per appearance.

Meanwhile, Hugo Ekitike has been dealing with the scoring business for Liverpool since his arrival from Bundesliga side Frankfurt. The Frenchman has eight Premier League goals to his name, while scoring in the Champions League in victory over his former side. Ekitike has managed at least one shot on target in each of his five starts in the competition, while Marseille has managed to keep just one UCL clean sheet in six attempts.

On the topic of keeping out the goals, it's only right we bring up what the away side will bring to the party. Liverpool has also scored 11 goals in this competition, most recently adding to this tally in an impressive away victory at Inter Milan. Midfielder Florian Wirtz has six goal involvements in his last five matches, and there would be no surprise to see him among the goals again.

High-Risk Research: We have already touched on the scoring form of Greenwood, though we are backing the Englishman to capitalize on The Reds' defensive vulnerabilities tomorrow night. The defensive line of Liverpool has failed to convince us up to this point, and the risk of attacking full-backs leaves you short in the defensive end. Greenwood has scored five goals in his last three matches, including a crucial penalty in the Super Cup final against PSG, and we are backing him to add to his tally here in this competition.

With high-stakes action comes the likelihood of rash decisions, much to the knowledge of Danish midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The 30-year-old is known for working his way into the referee's book and has already received a caution in this competition in the victory over Ajax. The Tottenham connection will spur the midfielder on to win every duel in the middle of the park, and if this fixture gets frantic, expect him to be involved in the not-so-nice side of the action.

Though this game is certainly hard to call, we are siding with a narrow home win tomorrow night. Roberto De Zerbi has put together a well-oiled machine since joining the club from Premier League side Brighton, cutting out any nonsense in and around his squad by sending players out the door. He has got the fans believing that they can go into every game with a chance to win, certainly applying to the home fixtures where his side has flourished so far this campaign. A combination of Liverpool's defensive issues and Marseille's quality in attack justifies confidence in a victory for the home side.

As mentioned, defeat here would not be without a fight from the red corner. We are siding with a BTTS bet to wrap up our selections, our in-house tipsters having 52% confidence in this selection.
