Championship Choices

Coventry City fell to their third loss of the season last time out to fellow promotion hopefuls Ipswich. Frank Lampards men have been outstanding so far this season, and that loss showed just the slightest blip on their journey to promotion. The loss also marked their first at home all season, with the Coventry Building Society Arena being something of a fortress for the Sky Blues. Charlton have struggled this season under Nathan Jones, winning just one game in their last nine.

The tractor boys Ispwich are edging closer to top of the table Coventry, and a win over their title rivals set the tone coming into the new year. Ipswich have lost one in their last seven, picking up 14 points. Keiran McKenna's side got off to a slow start to the season, winless in their first four but have been on Coventry and Middlesbrough's tail ever since.

Goals Galore

League One has been one of the competive leagues in Europe this season, with only 10 points seperating 1st and 6th, meaning everything is still to play for in the new year. Jack Wilshere's side travel to Exeter, on the back of a good run of form, including a 4-0 demolition of Wycombe Wanderes. Exeter come into the game sitting just outside the relegation zone on goal difference. However the home side have found themselves comfortable at home, with 17 of their 26 points coming at St James Park. Our API suggests a 53.30% confidence in BTTS.

We have a playoff clash on new years day between 2nd place Lincoln and 5th place Huddersfield, just seven points seperate the two sides. Lincoln come into the game unbeaten in five, their last loss coming at home to opposition Huddersfield in the EFL Trophy. Lincoln will be out to get revenge and continue their title chase, while Huddersfield have already beaten their opponents and will be looking to do it again. Our API suggests a 60.00% confidence in BTTS.

Nose Bleed Territory

Bromley were promoted to League Two for the first time in the clubs history in 2024. Andy Woodman's side finished 11th in their first season, and have improved drastically since then, finding themselves top of the table going into 2026. A 3-1 win away at Crawley last time out saw last years Golden Boot winner Michael Cheek take home the matchball. Bromley show no signs of stopping down and will be hopeful that they can start the year just how they left off in 2025.
