The Research

Southampton and Watford face off in one of three early Championship kick-offs. The Saints defeated Stoke away from home in their last league outing, whilst Watford were unfortunate not to take all three points away at Hull. A tale of inconsistent performances for both sides as it looks more than likely that they'll conform to mid-table finishes, though the history of this fixture has often brought entertainment.

The two played out a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture in August, whilst Southampton got the better of Watford last time at St. Mary's, courtesy of a 99th-minute winner. Neither side can merit themselves for defensive resilience this season, and the attacking quality on show suggests that we're in for a shootout on Saturday. We are going for a BTTS selection for this fixture, our in-house tipster having 63% confidence in this selection.

Huddersfield and Blackpool clash in League One on Saturday afternoon. The home side has claimed three consecutive league victories since the appointment of Liam Manning, a trend that looks set to continue against a struggling Blackpool side. The Tangerines have lost six of their last seven league matches, leaving them just one point above the drop. Failing to register a shot on target in defeat to Luton Town last time out, whilst Huddersfield average just shy of two goals per game in League One this season. Though Blackpool has a favorable record against their opposition in recent years, unbeaten in the last five meetings, all signs point to Huddersfield building on their strong home form.

League rivals Bolton and Barnsley clash with both sides in desperate need of the three points for their league aspirations. Bolton could close the gap to three points behind Lincoln City in the automatic promotion spot with victory here, whilst Barnsley will hope to bolster their slim playoff chances. Recent meetings between the pair suggest that we should expect goals, both teams scoring in the last seven occasions. Bolton has scored 26 goals in 15 matches on home soil, whilst Barnsley has been in fine scoring form with nine in their last five. That said, we are following the goals trend and going with an Over 2.5 Goals bet for this matchup. Our in-house tipsters have 55% confidence in our selection.

Over to League Two now, where Crawley and Crewe meet in the lunchtime kickoff. Visitors Crewe have picked up some impressive results of late, including a draw away at league leaders Bromley in recent weeks. With their eyes firmly on the playoffs , they will see this as a favorable opportunity to close the gap with 7th placed Walsall. Crawley have picked up 17 of their 26 league points on home soil, including an important victory against relegation rivals Harrogate Town on Saturday. That said, history of this fixture is strongly in favor of the visitors and their notable form coming into this fixture justifies confidence in an away win.

Notts County and Barrow, two sides separated by 19 positions in the League Two table. Notts County has won their last five league matches to move up to second place. They have the third strongest home form in the league this season, and they will see this as a favorable fixture to extend that trend. That said, Barrow is unbeaten against their opponents in the last five occasions, claiming victory in two. A common trend between the two sides is goals, and we can see this fixture being an entertainer for the neutral. A BTTS selection for Notts County vs Barrow completes our accumulator, our in-house tipster having 58% confidence in this pick.
