Both to Strike in Tense EFL Affair

Nice one, Nick Woltemade. We pass the baton of Banker of the Day over to Ben Growdon for the first time, and you ruin his debut with a miserable showing in front of goal against Manchester United. Merry pissing Christmas to you, too.

Anyway, the football never stops and neither do our best bets. It's EFL action tonight, and we are having a pop at Coventry and Ipswich both hitting the back of the net.

Chances are, this one could be pretty tense and Coventry may actually be a little more subdued than we have been used to seeing them. There's been a couple tells for that lately anyway, with the Sky Blues notching just four goals in their last five matches and with the average xG dipping below the 1.5 mark.

Regardless of this whataboutery, Frank Lampard's side have still bagged in 10 home games on the trot and averaged an xG of 2.23 over the course of the season. There hasn't been a single home game wherein Coventry haven't made over 1.00 xG, so the onus is on them to find the net at least once whereas Ipswich town stuck three past Coventry just a few weeks ago.

Kieran McKenna's men currently sit in 3rd place in the EFL Championship table in terms of expected goals, as well as over the previous 10 games. The also jump well above average for xG over their last 10 and hold an xGA (expected goals against) of around 1.24, so there's leaks at the back for them.

At 1.67, a £10 stake will return a resourceful £16.70 with talkSPORT BET
