Friday night action in the EFL Championship as Derby County host West Brom in a crucial game concerning both ends of the table.

The home side has managed consecutive league victories for the first time since November, pulling them to within two points of Preston who occupy the final playoff spot.

As for West Brom, it is a whole different story concerning Eric Ramsay's side. The Baggies will be looking over their shoulder after four consecutive league defeats, including a hammering at home to Norwich City last time out.

We have put together both low-risk and high-risk bet builders based on our strongest selections for this EFL Championship tie. Our betting partner talkSPORT Bet is offering various ways for you to enhance your winnings with their exclusive promotions, so it is only right that you get in on the action.

The Research

Low-Risk: One quick look at the form guides tells you why we fancy Derby to come out on top. Manager John Eustace is an expert at getting results in this division and will welcome the test of a low-morale side under new management with open arms. If that didn't quite say it to you, then a glance at the head-to-head record shows that Derby is unbeaten in five consecutive meetings with West Brom, victorious in their last three.

The history of this fixture has also proven to be rather hostile. The last four meetings have seen cards handed out to both sides. The two have had poor disciplinary records this campaign, with Derby leading the league in yellow cards received (65), whilst West Brom only trails Birmingham City for red cards (3). The frustrations of the visitors and recklessness of the home side set this up to be a feisty encounter.

Over 1.5 Goals wraps up our low-risk selections. Neither of the two sides have been prolific of late , but both have shown defensive vulnerabilities over the course of the season to suggest that this could change here. The hosts average over a goal per match at Pride Park this season, whilst West Brom has scored in three of their last five visits here.

High-Risk: The most common scoreline in world football , and we are using it in favour of the home side on Friday night. Eric Ramsay will be asking for a reaction from his side after being embarrassed by Norwich City last time out. The defensive side of things is what concerns me in this West Brom side, having failed to keep a clean sheet in their last eight attempts. I do think they will get on the scoresheet, yet I don't think it will be enough to stop Derby from claiming maximum points at Pride Park.

On the topic of Derby and maximum points, who else but Patrick Agyemang to fire you to victory ? The American international has made a significant impact since joining from MLS side Charlotte FC, inspired by the prolific Carlton Morris before his injury setback. Agyemang has seven Championship goals to his name, his goal against Southampton being his first and only at Pride Park. The 25-year-old can capitalise on West Brom's defensive woes and add to his tally in this fixture.

A corner bet is always the one to keep you on your toes when watching the game. The home side has the crossing mastery of Joe Ward at their disposal, so will be eager to get as many set-piece situations as possible. West Brom tallied 11 corners on their own in the reverse fixture, so asking for at least nine corners between the two sides is hardly far- fetched. Two of the last four encounters between the two sides would return this selection, and we are willing to include it as part of our high-risk selections to complete the bet builder.
