The Value Bet

Corners A-Plenty - In Newcastle home matches so far this season, the corner have been raining in on all counts. Over The Magpies last 5 home affairs, there has been a count of 14, 10, 10, 18 and 19 total corners over the course of matches with Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Fulham, Burnley and Tottenham (respectively).

In Leeds, Newcastle will be facing off with an opponent who have undergone a personality transplant under Daniel Farke in recent weeks, with the Whites taking teams to the sword and forcing themselves into games. As such, they are undefeated since November, although they have only won twice in that time. Away from home, the match corner count in Leeds matches spells out at 11, 12, 3, 10 and 11, and they'll be against a team equally willing to take the game to an opponent as they look to build momentum.

Both Team's Cards Marked - In Leeds United's matches this season, both combatants have managed to find the back of the net in all but five of their fixtures in all competitions, which includes some pretty favourable opposition such as Chelsea, Man City and Aston Villa. For Newcastle, it doesn't ring in quite as often with 12 total games this season not having a goal apiece, but Newcastle do have eight more games to play than Leeds do thanks to the Champions League. We should see a thrilling affair here, particularly in the second half where Leeds have conceded two-thirds of their goals this season.

Magpies Take the Points - Despite Leeds' strong run of form which has seen them creep eight points away from the drop zone, the betting favourite to keep the points here is Newcastle.

The Magpies have relied on their home form somewhat this term, winning 20 of their 29 Premier League points at St. James' Park and sitting in 6th place in the home form table. By contrast, Leeds have been one of the worst away sides in the division, winning just six points on the road this season (which draws against Brentford, Liverpool and Sunderland have only recently boosted) leaving a record which only Burnley and Wolves have done worse than.

Furthermore, despite the long undefeated streak, Leeds haven't been turning in loads of wins. Newcastle, meanwhile, will be desperate for three points to make it three wins on the spin and close the gap on two manager-less sides up there in the European fight with them - Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Longshot

Leeds to Sneak the Win - If you fancy the longer punt here, by all means back Leeds. Although the bulk of their good fortune has come with draws and home performances, they might just be able to sneak something against Newcastle as the betting underdog. They have avoided defeat in each of their last three away days, and won't be put off by the Magpies and their strong form at home this term.

DCL Again Ole Ole - Seven goals in six games is a bit of a mental run, isn't it? Makes you appreciate just how special Jamie Vardy's achievement is. Anyway, if anyone is going to steal a punch on Newcastle, it would be Leeds' re-juvenated Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

When the former Everton striker made his way to Elland Road on a free in the summer, 'DCL' looked to have somewhat of a personality clash under Farke with the weaker sides of his game being played to. Now, with Farke fighting well for his job, Calvert-Lewin has been entrusted with a job starting and ending at scoring goals, which he has done very well at. His run came to an end with a blank cameo from the bench against Liverpool, but was a nuisance for Manchester United to deal with in their recent 1-1 draw. Expect him to lean into the chaos for this longshot, and potentially stick one away once more.

Lots-a Goals - We're taking an eye on the averages here, but more specifically on the home and away frontier.

There have been 28 goals in Leeds' 10 away games so far this term for an average of 2.8 per game, whereas Newcastle at home has warranted a total of 30 from 10 for an average of 3.0 per game. These ring true when including all form this season - overall, Leeds have seen 59 goals from their 20 Premier League matches for an average just shy of the 3.0 mark.

Here we have two teams who know where the net is and have fun in seeking it out. The goals should flow smoothly on Wednesday.
