The jam-packed festive period is heating up, and fixtures are coming thick and fast. For Premier League teams in Europe, it means they will be playing their fifth game in two weeks, a heavy demand for players, fans and managers alike.

Fortunately, neither Manchester United nor Bournemouth have continental football to worry about this season, meaning that come their clash on Monday evening at Old Trafford, the two outfits will have had seven and nine days off, respectively.

United come into the game in bright form, winning two of their last three games and losing just one of their last five, while visitors Bournemouth come into the game winless in six, albeit coming off the back of a creditable home draw against Chelsea.

United sit sixth, just a point behind Crystal Palace in the final Champions League spot, while a win for 13th-placed Bournemouth could move them as high as 8th, depending on results elsewhere.

With stakes so high for both teams, it’s only right that you put something on the line too. That is why we have built you two distinct bet builders, tailored for better looking for both big wins and small profits. Created with meticulous research and superb insight, here is our Manchester United vs Bournemouth Monday Evening Bet Builder.

United to Continue Good Form: Starting off as safe as houses, Manchester United finally have some momentum on their side, which, considering their last 18 months or so, is no mean feat. Now they must use it - they are on home turf against one of the most out-of-form teams in the league and need to capitalise.

They will be given extra motivation by the fact they are so close to the Champions League spots – considering Amorim’s job was at risk (again) early in the season, the Portuguese coach has done well to slowly work his way back up the table. With the Old Trafford crowd onside, the Red Devils should pick up a straightforward three points here.

Just in Case: However, it is never a bad idea to go even safer - though this leg still requires a United win for the bet to come off, we are confident enough in a victory to add this in as a simple “odds boost option”.

Should they draw, the bet wouldn’t win due to the first leg, but you have the option to substitute one of them and go with something a little more out there. ‘Bettor’s choice’, I say.

Goals at Both Ends: Though a United win seems likely, Bournemouth will still provide a stern test to the home side’s backline. With the likes of Junior Kroupi, Semenyo and Marcus Tavernier all in good nick in front of goal, a clean sheet is far from guaranteed for United here.

It speaks volumes that Bournemouth have only failed to score on their travels once this season, illustrating that when playing away from home, they like to play the role of party poopers. The likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro and Lisandro Martinez will need to be alert at all times here.#

High Risk

Predicting the Unlikely: In fairness, it does say high risk - not many people bet on the draw these days, but in past seasons, this is exactly the sort of game where sceptics would expect United to drop points.

Bournemouth’s form leads me to believe they won’t win, but their draw with Chelsea last weekend showed they have the ability to frustrate a vastly superior side, all while creating chances of their own down the other end. I'm predicting a bold 2-2 draw - if Amorim is going to drop any unexpected points this December, it will be here.

Goals, Goals, Goals: If Man United are to drop points here, it is because they lost control of the match - when that happens, it usually happens spectacularly. Against a side like Bournemouth, who thrive on open spaces, you cannot afford to give them an inch, something which, in the past, United have been exceptionally poor at avoiding.

Should they lose their grip on the game, Bournemouth will punish them more than once, with the likes of Semenyo and Kroupi punishing their poor judgement, while the likes of Cunha, Mbeumo and Mount will endeavour to drag their side out of a hole at the other end. If it becomes end-to-end, expect a cold evening, with a forecast of goals.

Pantomime Villain: Say what you want about Bruno Fernandes - despite his sometimes frustrating mentality, he is a world-class talent. However, he also has the ability to lose his head at times, and if his side goes behind, he will throw himself into the game with renewed vigour, usually leading to some form of reckless decision-making.

Add this to his guilty pleasure of becoming animated with the referee, and you can start to see why we’ve gone with this keg. He won’t necessarily receive a card, but I can see him leaving something on an opponent at least once in this game.
