Newcastle v Arsenal Bet Builder: Our Top Betting Tips & Selections

This is a fixture that looks quite tasty on paper. That’s as long as Arteta doesn’t turn it into a borefest, which he is quite capable of doing.

Our Bet Builder is coming in at odds of 8.0 on Kwiff, so a £10 stake would return £90 if it lands. Even better, Kwiff currently has a cracking offer that can be claimed today: bet a tenner on our bet (or your own, if you fancy) and you’ll be credited with £30 in free bets straight to your account. It's definitely worth doing if you don't have an account already.

Let’s break down our bet and have a look at each selection in detail.

Selection 1: Arsenal Over 1.5 Goals @ 2.15

If there’s one thing that Arteta has built, it’s an Arsenal side that can: A) keep the ball out of the net, B) a side that can score goals, C) a team who can win titles… Actually, forget point C.

They’ve not just got one or two threats; they’ve built a pretty decent army in attack. That helps with the return of Bukayo Saka, the signing of Viktor Gyokores and midfielders who get in on the act with Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi. A nightmare, really, for any back line in the league.

In their last four games, the Gunners have scored eight goals, averaging 2.0 per game so far this season. That’s not a fluke; it’s consistency. And while Newcastle are no mugs at the back, they’ve still managed to ship four goals in their last four games. That tells us Arsenal will get chances, and when they get chances, they usually do take them.

The deal breaker: Over 1.5 Arsenal goals have landed in 60% of Arsenal’s games this season. At odds of 2.15, that’s value. We’re not asking for a lot here, just a couple Arsenal goals and a tick on our betslip.

Selection 2: Viktor Gyokores 1+ Shot On Target @ 1.42

Viktor Gyokores. He’s a bit like the Big Arch that McDonalds recently released. It looks good. It sounds good. It’s got all the makings of being a beautiful purchase. But when you take your first bite, you realise it’s a bit sloppy, messy and isn’t actually as good as you expected it to be.

However, putting the McDonalds comparison to the side, Gyokores to have a shot on target looks pretty much nailed. To be fair to him, bar his sluggish movement, and below average first touch, he has proved he can put the ball in the back of the net. In his first five games of the season, he’s hit the target in three of them, and he’s already got three goals to his name.

He’s averaging a healthy 79 minutes per game, which means you’re not likely to see him hooked early - which is always a risk with strikers when you’ve got money on them.

He’s looking healthy for a shot on target, he’ll probably get on the scoresheet as well, but we’re not too bothered about that. Just kick the ball against the keeper please Viktor.

To note: seriously, the Big Arch was bang average.

Selection 3: Martin Zubemendi to Be Booked @ 3.3

The money maker selection in this Bet Builder. We’ve taken Zubemendi to be shown a yellow (or red) card. If you don’t know him, here’s a bit of a breakdown: he’s a deep-lying midfielder who likes to break up the play, put in tackles, and occasionally get on the scoresheet.

This season, Zubamendi is averaging 1.81 fouls per game. He’s already been booked once this season, and last season he racked up seven yellows in total. Add the fact he plays the full game (averaging 89 minutes), and you’ve basically got 90 minutes of opportunities to miss-time a tackle or crunch Lewis Miley in the middle of the park, poor lad.

Now here’s where it looks even more appealing: the man in charge is Jarred Gillett, who’s handed out a whopping 17 yellow cards in just 5 games this season. That’s more than 3 per game on average.

At 3.3, the odds look good. It’s not a banker this one, but it’s smart, and tips our Bet Builder to odds of 8.0.

The Bet Builder: 8.0 on Kwiff

So, to recap:

Arsenal Over 1.5 Goals @ 2.15.
Viktor Gyokores 1+ Shots On Target @ 1.42.
Martin Zubamendi to Be Booked @ 3.3.

Put them together, and you’ll come out with odds of 8.0 on Kwiff. A very good price in my opinion. Especially considering it’s only three selections.

Of course, it’s football. Anything can happen. Arsenal could miss sitters, Gyokores might pass instead of shoot, and Zubamendi could be the calmest player on the pitch. But the stats back it up, the value’s there and most importantly - it makes the game way more fun to watch. Also, please gamble responsibly.

Responsible Gambling

Betting should always be fun. Set a budget, stick to it, and remember no bet is ever guaranteed. Think of it as adding a bit more enjoyment on Sunday afternoon, sit back on the couch, get your slippers on, grab a packet of crisps, and tick off our selections as they (hopefully) land.

If the fun stops, stop. And if you need support, you can head over to BeGambleAware.org, who are always there to help you.

Good luck.
