SK Sturm Graz vs Nottingham Forest Betting Guide

It's a wonderful day in the office when you get to write something about the team you support. Alas, I shall be doing my upmost to ensure that not even the slightest resemblance of any bias creeps it's way into this article.

Research

Now the biggest priority for the week in Nottingham isn't actually this Europa League clash, despite The Reds embarking on their first continental outing for 30 years and wanting to progress far into the competition.

With that in mind, a rotated squad is expected for the Sean Dyche's Austrain expedition, though the left-wing position will likely not be one under the knife. Though Hudson-Odoi played 90 minutes against Manchester United last time out, other wingers Dilane Bakwa and James McAtee are either injured or unsuitable to oust 'CHO' from his post on the left, whilst Dan Ndoye may be further in line for some rest instead of Hudson-Odoi.

He's known for his cuts-in from the left and shots from his right, and has helped himself to three attempts at goal in each of his three Europa League appearances so far this season. Furthermore, Sturm Graz have faced 2 or more shots from right-footed left-wingers in 2 of their last 3 matches, with their traditional 3-at-the-back approach surrendering a bit of space to flank attackers.

Both teams have found themselves holding a booking in Nottingham Forest games in all but one of their previous 8 matches, with every single game under Sean Dyche seeing that metric ring true as well. With Forest the favourites, we can expect a bit of rough play from the Austrian hosts in light of that, but Forest are no stranger to a booking of their own, which they may deploy as Sturm Graz look to hit counters.

Forest's expected favouritism against Sturm's defence-first approach in the wake of a team hoping for a statement win in Europe should see The Reds draw more than enough corners, whilst the over 1.5 goals line has landed in all of Forest's Europa League matches this season, every match under Sean Dyche so far, and in all but two of Sturm Graz's matches across the entire campaign.
