Ferroviária
This coming Monday sees Chapecoense take on Ferroviaria in the Brazilian Serie B. The game will be played at the Arena Condá in Chapecó, as both sides look to push up the table towards the promotion spots. However, with only one point separating both teams, neither side will make it easy.
Chapecoense currently occupy eighth position in the Brazilian Serie B. On 16 points, they are just four points away from the desired top four promotion spots. However, there is still a long way to go in the season, with only 11 games having been played so far. This season, Chape have been loving life on their home soil, only losing one game in total and winning all of their last four matches at the Arena Condá. On the other hand, they have endured some torrid form on their travels this term, losing four and drawing one of their six away games. Gilmar Dal Pozzo’s men have also lost both of their last two away fixtures, including their most recent game against Novorizontino. This is a factor that has really held back Chape’s campaign.
Ferroviaria are in a very similar boat to Chapecoense. 11 games into their season, they sit in 11th place, one point behind Monday’s hosts, and five points adrift of the top four. The main difference is that Ferrão have picked up a whopping six draws this season – five more than Chape – and that seems to be their only source of points at the minute. Almost identically, Ferroviaria’s home form has been magnificent, as they continue their unbeaten run on home turf this campaign. However, their way form has been nowhere near promotion standard. Ferrão have only won one game away from home, which does not fare well heading into another away match against mid-table competition. Their one win did come in their last game though, away at America MG, which could emerge as a tilt in their away fortunes. This match also became the club’s first win in four games.
Chapecoense Predicted Line-Up: Vieira, Paulo, Henrique, Domachowski, Clar, Augusto, Matias, Carvalheira, Mailton, Mailson, Marcinho
Mailton has been absolutely phenomenal for Chapecoense so far this season. The Brazilian is on loan from Metalist Kharkiv in Ukraine and has since been loving life in his home country. The 27-year-old is Chape’s top scorer this season with four goals, wih one assist to add to those numbers. The loanee has also produced all of his output from his favoured wing-back position.
Ferroviaria Predicted Line-Up: Junior, Melo, Alves, Medina, Kevin, Thayllon, Ricardinho, Netinho, Thiago, Neto, Carlao
Carlao has in no doubt been Ferroviaria’s standout player so far this season. He is the club’s top scorer with five goals and one assist from the striker spot. Furthermore, the Brazilian is also the Serie B’s second top scorer. The 32-year-old also managed to find the net in Ferrão’s last match away to America MG.
As Ferroviaria have made a swift rise up the Brazilian leagues, they have not yet encountered Chapecoense prior to this fixture. Therefore, there is no previous history between these two sides.
Both of these sides have a range of goal scorers within their teams. Moreover, they both have the same aim of reaching the top four promotion spots. With them being so close together, they will both certainly throw everything at the fixture.
For that reason, our betting experts have suggested that Both Teams to Score is the best value tip for this match. Odds on Highbet of 2.08 means that a £10 stake has the potential to return £20.80!

Chapecoense 2-1 Ferroviaria
With Ferrão’s poor away form and Chape being higher in the table, the home side are definitely the favourites going into this game.
