A basement battle in the MLS Western Conference as third bottom hosts second bottom in Texas. With the play-offs starting to look like a pipedream for these sides, this clash is more about establishing some momentum ahead of the Leagues Cup, the MLS/Mexican league crossover competition, which offers these two teams a chance to save their respective seasons.
Home advantage will be of no comfort to Dallas, who hold the worst home record in the Western Conference. The Texans have won just 1 of their 10 home games. Capitalising on such a statistic will not prove easy for St. Louis, however, as the visitors have been victorious only once on the road all season.
A 2-1 win at home to Portland has given St. Louis some forward momentum ahead of this latest away engagement with the home side winless in five, losing four.
However, having won both games played in Dallas since St. Louis joined the league in 2023, it’s the hosts who start as favourites.
Key Betting Tip: Draw @ 3.7
Dallas predicted XI: Maarten Paes; Marco Farfán, Sebastien Ibeagha, Lalas Abubakar, Shaquell Moore; P. Delgado Villa, Ramiro; Logan Farrington, Joshua Torquato, Bernard Kamungo; Petar Musa
St. Louis predicted XI: Roman Burki; Tomas Totland, Tim Parker, Aaron Reid, Sebastian Klein; Eduard Löwen, Girdwood-Reich; Célio Pompeu, Simon Becher, Nökkvi Þórisson; Samuel Adeniran
This is an important game in the race to avoid the MLS Western Conference’s wooden spoon. LA Galaxy are currently propping up the division on 15 points with St. Louis City only three points clear of the bottom side.
FC Dallas are on 22 points after 22 games and can open up a seven point lead over their opponents with victory here. A win for the hosts could see Dallas leapfrog Kansas City in 12th.
This will be just the sixth ever meeting of the teams with St. Louis only joining the MLS in 2023. In the previous five encounters the spoils have been shared with two wins a piece and one draw.
Interestingly, the away team has never prevailed in this fixture.

Football Park’s Best Bet: Draw @ 3.7
A meeting of two teams in no sort of form with the hosts unable to buy a win in front of their own fans, while the visitors must hate the sight of away fixtures at this point given their woeful record in such contests.
FC Dallas drew with a San Jose team who are barely clinging onto the cocktails of the play-off places, while St. Louis have been showing some more positive signs in recent weeks, especially in the win at home to Portland last time out.
We’ve all heard the cliche of the immovable object meeting the irresistible force, this is some kind of negative opposite to that term. The head-to-head record is balanced, with both sides having similar wins and competitive games lately. Neither has dominated the other decisively.
Dallas’ struggles scoring consistently at home and St. Louis’ road woes point toward a low-scoring match where defenses are likely to hold firm. San Jose are the only team in the Western Conference to have drawn more games than FC Dallas (7) while St.Louis City have drawn just one game fewer (6).
Everything points to a tight affair.
Petar Musa is just one goal shy of hitting double digits for the season. The Croatian striker has been capped six-times by his country and is the top scorer this term for FC Dallas.
Roman Burki could be busy between the posts for St.Louis City but with 9 caps for Switzerland he is vastly experienced and will be key to keeping the players in front of him organised.
