There are just two games left in the Scottish Premiership this season, and Wednesday night sees Dens Park host a huge relegation clash. Two points separate Dundee FC and Ross County, with the latter sitting in the relegation playoff spot. A win would either take Dundee FC five points clear of their opponents or allow Ross County to leapfrog Dundee FC.
After finishing in the top six last campaign, Dundee FC haven’t seen their second season back in the top flight pan out as well. They have won two and lost four in their last six, those two wins coming impressively against St. Mirren and Hearts of Mithlodian, however, they’re winless in two after losing to Motherwell and Kilmarnock.
Predicted Line Up: Carson, Astley, Shaughnessy, Donnelly, Larkeche, Mulligan, Cameron, Portales, Houlden, Tiffoney, Murray
Despite his team’s position, Simon Murray is the league’s joint top scorer, joining Daizen Maeda on 16 goals. He notably scored in seven of the eight games between matchday 27 and 34 and has scored in each of Dundee FC’s last five wins, an integral player in Tony Docherty’s team.
After picking up 20 points from a possible 33 between December and March, Ross County’s form has completely fallen off, losing seven straight games. By far the worst form in the league, the 11th-placed side risks dropping out of the division completely if they cannot turn things around in this game.
Predicted Line Up: Amissah, Wright, Lopata, Nightingale, Tomkinson, Randall, Nisbet, Phillips, Harmon, Samuel, Hale
Ross County also have a dangerman up top in the shape of Ronan Hale. The forward has 14 goals in all competitions domestically and has scored two of County’s last four goals. If anyone is likely to score for them, it’s him.
Dundee FC have won 16 of the last 52 meetings between these teams, Ross County have won 21, and there have been 15 draws. They have already met three times this season, with Ross County winning all three. Those fixtures are as follows:
Ross County will play for a win, however, a draw is okay for them. Ross County, on the other hand, will be desperate for three points here in order to leapfrog their opponents. Expect goals here with both teams in need of a win, and two of the worst defences in the league on display.
For this reason, our betting experts say Both Teams to Score is the best value tip for this game. With odds at 8/11, a bet of £10 could see a potential return of up to £17.27.
(odds subject to change)
Dundee FC will finally end their winless run against Ross County due to the away team’s horrible form, but a draw will send the relegation fight to the final day.
