The Swiss Super League features 12 teams competing in a distinctly unique format. In the first phase, all teams play each other three times in a round-robin structure, over the course of 33 matches. Following this stage, the league splits into two groups: the top six enter the Championship group to vie for the title and European spots, while the bottom six form the Relegation group to fight against the drop to the league below. Each group then plays a single round-robin (five additional matches per team), bringing the total to 38 games per side.

For the 2025/26 campaign, it begins on 25th of July 2025 and concludes on the 17th of May 2026. The initial 33-match regular season runs from July to April, followed by the aforementioned split-phase Championship and Relegation groups in the spring.
