With the Scottish Premiership confirmed, Aberdeen turn all their focus on the Scottish Cup as they are set to host second tier Scottish side Queen’s Park for the Quarter finals of the tournament. After completing a monumental victory over Rangers in their previous round, Queens Park are confident they can continue to keep their miraculous campaign going.
After last season's disatsers which saw the Dons finish to the league’s first phase that saw them battling in the lower half of the table, Aberdeen are on track for a top half finish as they sit fourth place in the Scottish Premiership. Their previous round clash of the Scottish Cup saw them welcome another second tier side in Dunfermline Athletic. The Dons controlled the game from start to finish and finished the game with a clean sheet on top of a three goal win in front of the home fans.
Queens Park’s form continues to fluctuate as the Spiders have only accumulated two wins from their last five matches. One of these wins was a tremendous celebration for Queens Park as they kept their Scottish Cup campaign moving by defeating top flight title challengers Rangers at the Ibrox Stadium. Becoming only the second side to manage victory at the Ibrox iths season, Queen park goalkeeper Callum Ferrie will be receiving a guard of honour after he capped off a superb goalkeeping performance with a penalty save on James Tavernier right at the dying embers of the game
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Aberdeen Predicted Line-Up: Mitov; MacKenzie, Knoester, Tobers, Jensen; Palaversa, Shinnie; Okkels, Gueye, Keskinen; Nisbet
Unfortunately for Jimmy Thelin, he is still yet to receive positive news in regards to his star player Jamie McGarth returning to the squad. The Irishman has been key for the Aberdeen side this season however has been sidelined since January with a shoulder injury. The Dons have displayed brilliance so far in the Scottish Cup and have proven they remain laser focused even if the team is of lower quality.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Queens Park Predicted Line-Up: Ferrie; Montgomery, Jackson, Tizzard, Devine; Welsh, Mauchin; Duncan, Turner, Hurst; Rudden
Completing one of the biggest upsets of the season, Queens Park booked their first appearance in the quarter finals since 1983. All thanks to goalkeeper Calum Ferrie who recorded a tremendous nine saves on top of a 97 minute penalty save. Queens Park have shown their ability to be giant killers, but it is going to take another huge performance in order to continue their fantasy cup run.
These two sides met each other for the first time back in August, where Queen’s Park made the trip to Pittodrie Stadium but this time for the Scottish League Cup. Aberdeen enjoyed more of the ball but in front of goal they were woeful. The game whittled all the way down until finally Aberdeen broke the deadlock, with a 90th minute winner from 20 year old forward Topi Keskinen.

Aberdeen 2-1 Queens Park
This game is going to be a close one but we think that Aberdeen might just have the edge they need to book their spot in the last four teams of the tournament.
