Here at Football Park, we’ve got you covered for betting tips across all the English leagues this weekend. If you’re feeling lucky you can even combine them into a tasty longshot ACCA.
Ipswich Town vs Liverpool
Ipswich return to the Premier League for the first time since the 2001/02 season and have been given a tough test for their opening match, facing up against Liverpool. New Reds manager Arne Slot will look to kick off his first season in charge with a win. We see Liverpool To Win To Nil in this one with odds of 8/5. The quality of the Liverpool squad will help them see a clean sheet and a victory.
Arsenal vs Wolves
Last year’s runners-up are at home where they invite Wolves in the opening weekend of the Premier League. After good performances in international tournaments and pre-season friendlies, Arsenal’s stars will be back up and running for this game. The Gunners will want to start this season as they mean to go on so an Arsenal To Win & Arsenal To Win The First Half at 4/6 is what we’ve gone with.
West Ham United vs Aston Villa
West Ham have had an excellent transfer window this summer and the new boys will look to impress new manager Julen Lopetegui. Strengthening in almost every department but more notably in the attacking regions, The Hammers now have a squad that can compete for those European places. At 11/2, we’ve gone with Half Time Draw/Full Time West Ham.
Derby County vs Middlesborough
After an impressive 0-3 mid week victory over Leeds in the Carabao Cup, Middlesborough have started their season with a bang, and we predict that their good form won’t end in this game Emmanuel Latte Lath looks to be a great contender for the Golden Boot in this year’s competition and he could be a massive help in this one. At odds of 21/20, we’ve gone with Middlesborough To Win.
West Brom vs Leeds United
Having both lost a game each across all competitions, this match should be an interesting one. After disappointing seasons in the Playoffs last year, West Brom and Leeds will want to put that past them. West Brom don’t seem like they are fully ready for a long season of football just yet after losing to League Two side Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, so we’ve gone with Leeds To Win at odds of 23/20.
Burnley vs Cardiff City
Beating fellow last season relegated side Luton Town 1-4 in the opening weekend of the Championship five days ago, Burnley look likely to repeat the trick with a win against Cardiff City. With the four goals coming from four different goalscorers, Burnley have put together a strong squad for the season and for that reason, we’ve gone with Burnley To Win + Over 2.5 Goals at odds of 5/4.
Charlton Athletic vs Leyton Orient
Charlton and Leyton Orient have both seen struggles when it comes to finding the back of the net in League One. Over the summer, Charlton’s top goalscorer last season Alfie May moved to Birmingham and Leyton’s top scorer last season in Ruel Sotiriou has since left them for Bristol Rovers. With the two sides without a proper bagsman, we’ve gone with a Draw at odds of 5/2.
Wycombe Wonderers vs Birmingham City
Both of these sides love to display attacking football and hopefully this game should be a back and forth match filled with plenty of goals. Unfortunately for Wycombe, they have never been victorious over Birmingham, and we don’t think that’s going to change when Birmingham are the favourites to clinch the title at the end of the season. At odds of 3/1, we’ve gone with Birmingham To Win + Both Teams To Score.
Carlisle United vs Barrow AFC
Carlisle United showed signs of promise in their opening match versus Gillingham despite at defeat in that match. They racked up a total of 18 shots in total and that stat will help them. With the added advantage of the home crowd and Barrow’s 1-1 draw in their first match of the League Two season, we’ve gone with Carlisle To Win at odds of 6/5.
Bradford vs Salford
Salford have not started this season well by any means, losing both of their two games in League Two and the Carabao Cup to Port Vale and Doncaster Rovers respectively. Bradford on the other hand look to keep their unbeaten streak going after a draw mid week in the Carabao Cup and a 1-2 win against MK Dons on the opening weekend of League Two. Bradford are in the much better form, so we’ve gone with Bradford First Half Win at odds of 13/10.
Brentford vs Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace showed incredible form towards the back end of the Premier League last season and they seem as if they can carry that momentum into this one, despite losing Michael Olise to Bayern Munich this summer. Jean-Phillipe Mateta has just had a great Olympic campaign and having a provider like Eberechi Eze means that Palace can score goals and disrupt the balance of Brentford. We’ve gone with Crystal Palace To Win at odds of 15/8.
Chelsea vs Manchester City
Both of these sides are often picking the ball out of the back of the net whether that be after conceding or adding to their goal tally. Cole Palmer and Erling Haaland were goal scoring machines last season, and we expect that to be the case again. Despite purchasing plenty of players in the summer transfer window, Chelsea still don’t have the quality of squad to compete with City just yet. At odds of 19/10, we’ve gone with Manchester City To Win + Both Teams To Score.
Sunderland vs Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday have had a great start to the season, beating Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argle 4-0 and getting a 1-2 away win against Hull City midweek in the Carabao Cup. Despite the amount of young talent that Sunderland have, it wasn’t enough for them in their loss to Preston North End on Tuesday. The Black Cats are up against a team that are great playing away from home, but it will be a close match to call. We’ve gone with Sheffield Wednesday To Win + Both Teams To Score.
Bolton vs Wrexham
Wrexham were defeated away from home in their last game, losing 4-2 in a goal fest in the Carabao Cup versus Sheffield United. The midweek clashes sees both sides struggling for fitness in what will be a long season but Bolton could be the more ready side out of the two. At odds of 17/2, we’ve gone with Half Time Draw/Full Time Bolton + Both Teams To Score.
Notts County vs Fleetwood Town
Fleetwood Town have just come off an impressive victory over Championship side West Brom in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday as well as a win in the opening weekend of the domestic season. Notts County have ended both their two matches in a draw after 90 minutes. With Fleetwood’s counterattacking football looking like it is working well for them, we’ve gone with Fleetwood Town To Win at odds of 21/10.
