So, after a rare exciting international break, we’re back to league action. That means we’re also back to predicting your favourite games across the world.
I’m taking a look at Friday's game where Adi Hutter’s Monaco host Eric Roy’s Stade Brestois.
Monaco will be very happy with their start to the season, they seem back to their best at 2nd in the table.
Brest, on the other hand, appear to be struggling with the new demands of Champions League football, and sit 12th.
AS Monaco Predicted Line-up - Radoslaw Majecki; Wilfried Singo, Thilo Kehrer, Mohammed Salisu, Caio Henrique; Soungoutou Magassa, Lamine Camara; Maghnes Akliouche, George Ilenikhena, Eliesse Ben Seghir; Breel Embolo
Monaco have been wildly impressive this season, and sit just six points from table-toppers PSG.
They’ve really woken up following a small dip in form, and will be refreshed after the international break.
Ben Seghir has looked clinical, and their entire defence has also looked strong this season.
Stade Brestois Predicted Line-up - Marco Bizot; Luc Zogbe, Brendan Chardonnet, Abdoulaye Ndiaye, Jordan Amavi; Hugo Magnetti, Pierre Lees-Melou, Jonas Martin; Romain Faivre, Ludovic Ajorque, Mama Balde
Whilst Brest were fantastic last year, their start to the campaign this season has not been nearly as impressive, and they’re possibly at threat of relegation.
A loss here would be their third on the bounce in Ligue 1, and would also equal their total losses from last season with seven.
Ajorque has two goals to his name this season, which is the most out of players available to them for this fixture.
These two sides have met 13 times since 2006. Among them, Monaco have won nine, and Brest have won four.
21st April 2024 - Brest 0-2 Monaco - Ligue 1
5th November 2023 - Monaco 2-0 Brest - Ligue 1
19th February 2023 - Brest 1-2 Monaco - Ligue 1
1st January 2023 - Monaco 1-0 Brest - Ligue 1
14th May 2022 - Monaco 4-2 Brest - Ligue 1
Wow, given everything we’ve looked at, I think there’s a clear winner here.
Not only have Monaco dominated the head to head record in recent years, their league performance has been astronomically better than Brest’s this campaign.
Overall we think the best bet to place for this game would be Monaco to win, backed up by our research.
Odds of 8/15 on Ladbrokes mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £15.30 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
AS Monaco 2-0 Stade Brestois
Monaco’s strength at the back means Brest won’t score here.
At the same time, Getafe take on Real Valladolid.
