Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur

Team Previews, Form and Standout Players

Both teams come into this game in poor form across their last five games. Aston Villa have only managed to win once in their last five games after starting the season off very well. Tottenham Hotspur on the other hand have been better, winning three. At the time of writing they have won two consecutive matches and are in line to face Liverpool in the second leg of their Carabao Cup Semi Final clash. Depending on that result, they could be in high hopes or despair, possibly affecting the way they might play this Sunday. A win for either Aston Villa or Tottenham Hotspur could help to turn their seasons around on two fronts, both in the Premier Leage and the FA Cup. If that is the case then it could be a back and forth affair with a handful of goals throughout.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-Up: Emi Martínez; Lucas Digne, Axel Disasi, Ezri Konza, Andrés García; Youri Tielemans, Amadou Onana; Jacob Ramsey, John McGinn (c), Morgan Rogers; Marcus Rashford

Villa made their way into the Fourth Round of the FA Cup by defeating fellow Premier League side West Ham United in a 2-1 win at home. Defensive midfielder Amadou Onana and winger Morgan Rogers were responsible for those goals but it has been striker Ollie Watkins that has been the one to step up for The Villains domestically this season. The 29 year old from has contributed to 15 goals and assists in the 24 matches he’s featured in. Watkins is however likely set to miss this game, suffering from muscle injury but it shouldn’t be too much of a problem for the Midlands side. They have had a great January transfer window, bringing in Donyell Malen, Marco Asencio and Marcus Rashford. All three of them can play some sort of variation of striker whilst Watkins is out, allowing any one of them to make their official Aston Villa debut, their aims to make the difference for their new clubs this Sunday.
