A struggling Aston Villa have a chance to turn their campaign around when they host a similarly stalled Crystal Palace at villa Park on Sunday.
With Villa hovering above bottom of the table Everton on goal difference, and Palace clear by just two points, neither side will want to lose this weekend, as dropping into the relegation zone near the midway point of the season can be demoralising for any team.
As a key relegation clash approaches, here is everything you need to know about both sides ahead of kick-off.
Aston Villa Predicted Lineup (3-4-2-1): Sabrina D’Angelo (GK); Lucy Parker, Anna Patten, Danielle Turner; Sarah Mayling, Jordan Nobbs, Lucy Staniforth, Kirsty Hanson; Rachel Daly, Chastity Grant; Gabriela Nunes Da Silva.
Despite failing to win any of their first seven league games this season, Aston Villa can be forgiven for feeling a little sorry for themselves.
They have only lost by more than one goal on one occasion, and come into this one off the back of a draw away to Manchester United, who are situated six places above them. Losing by one goal to Manchester City and Liverpool further shows that While Aston Villa may be very beatable, it will never be straightforward.
Crystal Palace represents the perfect opportunity for Villa to vent some of their frustration. They have played well this season, and have simply been unfortunate that more of their attacks have not come off. Palace, with their so far shoddy defence, will provide less of a test than their last three opponents, and they should for one consider themselves favourites heading into this one.
Crystal Palace Predicted Lineup (4-1-4-1): Shae Yanez (GK); Lily Woodham, Katrine Veje, Aimee Everett, Josie Green; Alexia Potter; Indiah Paige-Riley, Mille Gejl, My Cato, Ashleigh Weerden; Katie Stengel.
In contrast to Aston Villa, Palace can have no complaints about where they find themselves. Somewhat fortunate to be ahead of Villa in the table, the Eagles have been at times inacceptable in defence, underlined by a dismal 7-0 defeat to reigning WSL champions Chelsea.
While they have the upperhand over Aston Villa in terms of wins, as they beat Leicester in early October, they have scored just two goals since, and in drawing to Everton last time out, they will be lacking belief that they can come away from this one with a result.
The two sides have only met once previously, with Crystal Palace emerging from the Women'c Championship for the first time in their history last season.
Their only meeting was in the group stage of the Women's League Cup, from which Villa emerged as 2-0 winners.
Villa, while behind Palace, have been in more promising form recently, and have certainly shown more significant improvement since the opening day of the season.
Combining this with their home advantage, we are predicting a narrow win for the Eagles here. Palace will likely score, but their defence will let them down once again.
