Our shock of the week will be a draw between League One’s Barnsley and the Championship's Sheffield United.
Barnsley, under the management of Darrell Clarke, have had a very mixed start to the league season. They started with a loss to newly promoted Mansfield Town, before a win over Lincoln City and a draw to Northampton Town. Nevertheless, they currently do not have the quality to beat Sheffield United, who were in the Premier League last season.
Regardless of form though, Barnsley have been able to find the next in each and every one of their five games so far.
As for Sheffield United, they’ve been somewhat of a bottle so far this season. Despite having a very strong side under a manager who has won promotion to the top-flight before, they’re currently 11th in the Championship, whilst they could’ve been first. They were 2-0 at home to QPR in the second game, before drawing 2-2. And despite Norwich looking awful this season and losing some star players, United left them with just a point as well.
However, Sheffield United will not be playing their strongest team. They’ve already played four times this campaign and have a tough test at home to flawless Watford on Sunday. They cannot afford any injuries.
Add this to the fact they’re away for this game, and a couple of fresh faced youngsters could well bottle this game.
We’re backing a draw in this match, with over 1.5 goals scored by both teams combined. Through our bookmakers, you can get odds of 18/5 for this bet. A £10 stake would return £46 if the prediction is successful.
