Our research finds us in League One, where Darrell Clarke’s Barnsley are taking on Dave Challinor’s Stockport County.
The Two teams meet on Saturday, at Oakwell, and will be a tough fought contest.
Both teams have had strong starts to the League One season, with Barnsley sat 3rd and Stockport sat 7th.
Although Stockport’s form has trailed off, they’ve still been impressive considering they were promoted from League Two last season. We’ve got odds and research for another side we’re backing to be promoted from League Two this season.
Barnsley Predicted Line-up - Gabriel Slonina; Corey O’Keeffe, Josh Earl, Marc Roberts, Mael de Gevigney, Barry Cotter; Davis Keillor-Dunn, Josh Benson, Matthew Craig, Adam Phillips; Sam Cosgrove
Despite their 7-0 loss to Manchester United in the Carabao Cup, Barnsley have been flying so far this season.
They’ve won four of their seven league games so far, and look good value to be promoted to the second tier.
Adam Phillips will be key, creating chances for Cosgrove up front.
Stockport County Predicted Line-up - Corey Addai; Tayo Adaramola, Ethan Pye, Fraser Horsfall, Callum Connolly; Callum Camps, Oliver Norwood; Louie Barry, Will Collar, Jack Diamond; Kyle Wootton
Despite a shocking 4-1 loss to Leyton Orient last time out, Stockport have looked good this season. They’ve surprised a lot of teams considering they were promoted from League Two last season.
However, their form has trailed so double promotion may be off the cards.
Louie Barry and Jack Diamond will be their two biggest threats off the flanks.
Barnsley have only met Stockport County twice since 2004, so it’s hard to judge the head to head stats for this fixture.
Funnily enough, both of these fixtures ended level, so neither side holds a head to head advantage.
22nd January 2005 - Stockport County 2-2 Barnsley - League One
28th December 2004 - Barnsley 3-3 Stockport - League One
Since both sides have been relatively easily balanced, it’s a tough call in this fixture. Barnsley are arguably the better side, but individual brilliance always gives Stockport a good shot at a result.
Both teams concede pretty much every game, so we’d assume both teams are scoring here.
We think overall the best value tip is a draw and both teams to score in this game, backed up by our research.
Odds of 33/10 on PariMatch mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £43 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
Barnsley 2-2 Stockport County
This is certainly going to be a tight one, and it’s too tight to predict either team to take all three points. One thing we’re pretty confident on is both teams scoring.
