The UEFA Nations League campaign continues on Friday 11th October 2024 as Bosnia & Herzegovina play host to Germany.
This is bound to be an interesting fixture with both teams keen to win. Germany to extend their lead at the top of the group and Bosnia in order to finally pick up their first three points setting them up with the chance to push on further.
Bosnia & Herzegovina Predicted Lineup - Nikola Vasilj; Amar Dedic, Nikola Katic, Ermin Bicakcic, Sead Kolasinac; Haris Hajradanovic, Benjamin Tahorivic; Ivan Basic; Edin Dzeko, Ermedin Demirovic
Bosnia have thus far picked up just one point in the group thanks to a draw with Hungary. This will be a very tough test and they will most likely struggle. Their other match ended in a 5-2 loss to the Netherlands. This is expected to be a similar test.
Ermedin Demirovic and Edin Dzeko both scored in the game against Netherlands. If they can provide goals again there may be a chance for a shock.
Germany Predicted Lineup - Oliver Baumann; Maximilian Mittelstadt, Antonio Rüdiger, Jonathan Tah, Joshua Kimmich; Serge Gnabry, Pascal Gross, Robert Andrich, Florian Wirtz; Jonathan Burkardt, Deniz Undav
Germany are off the back of one win and one draw leaving them top of their group heading into this game. An impressive 5-0 victory over Hungary and a 2-2 draw with the Netherlands will certainly put them in good stead.
Coming up against a weak Bosnia side they will be hopeful that they can get something from this match. Especially if they continue on the form they have had thus far. All seven goal scorers so far in the Nations League have been different proving that anyone can harm their opposition.
These two nations have only played one another three times in their histories.
Germany have never lost against Bosnia however have only picked up one victory. Two of the games ended in draws.
The last time they met was back in June 2010. A game that took place just before the World Cup. The final score was 3-1 to Germany. Will the same happen here?
3rd June 2010 - Germany 3-1 Bosnia & Herzegovina - International Friendly
11th October 2002 - Bosnia & Herzegovina 1-1 Germany - International Friendly
11th November 1999 - Bosnia & Herzegovina 0-0 Germany - International Friendly
This game should result in a comfortable victory for what is a very strong Germany side. They have the ability and the players to breeze past Bosnia here and shouldn’t struggle too much.
