After back-to-back-to-back away days, Brighton & Hove Albion return to action at the American Express Stadium as they play host to Everton for another instalment of the Premier League. Coming off the back of a massive win against Manchester United, the Seagulls are now unbeaten from their last seven matches across all competitions. Picking apart a struggling Spurs side, Everton managed their first Premier League win from six attempts and helped themselves build a bigger gap above the relegation zone.
After obtaining the nickname of “draw specialist” Brighton & Hove Albion have been victorious in their last three games. Fabian Hurzeler’s side showed off a tremendous display of dominance in their last game, running riot at Old Trafford and travelling home with a 3-1 win under their belt. An unbeaten streak of seven will encourage the Seagulls to make a run for European football, with only six points separating them from Chelsea in fourth.
David Moyes has returned to his throne at the Toffees but comes back with a lot of work to do. While his first game resulted in a loss to Aston Villa, his second game back saw his side pick up a hard-fought win against Spurs. Despite being ranked second lowest for goals scored this season, Jordan Pickford has performed brilliantly to ensure at least Everton’s defensive record is strong as the Toffees are ranked sixth for least goals conceded.
Formation: 4-4-2
Predicted Line-Up: Verbruggen; Estupinan, Van Hecke, Webster, Veltman; Mitoma, Baleba, Ayari, Minteh; Welbeck, Joao Pedro
After collecting nine goals from their last three games, The Seagulls are in scary form and with Everton enduring a lacklustre season they will be looking to make quick work of them.
Brighton skipper Lewis Dunk has obtained a muscle injury and his unavailability leaves Hurzeler with only two healthy centre backs. Karou Mitoma has been a danger down the left-hand side for another season running and he is provided with a chance to make history in this match, as a goal in this game would see him become the first Japanese player to score in three consecutive games in the Premier League.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Line-Up: Pickford; Mykolenko, Branthwaite, Tarkowski, O’Brien; Gueye, Mangala; Ndiaye, Doucoure, Lindstrom; Calvert-Lewin
Showing that they have got the fight in them to ensure safety, Everton picked up a well-fought win over an injury-riddled Tottenham Hotspur. This win saw Everton go four points safe above the relegation zone and with a game in hand on the teams below, The Toffees are in a brilliant spot if they can keep their fight alive.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin had a field day in their last game, finally ending his goal drought of 16 matches and just in time for Moyes as his two other striking options are both out through injury. Everton have injury problems close to fixing themselves across the pitch as James Gardner has been seen being eased back into training and Dwight McNeil is looking like he will be welcomed back to the side just before the end of the month.
Brighton were the winners of the reverse fixture at the beginning of the season, leaving Goodison Park with a 3-0 victory. Karou Mitoma has found the back of the net in two of the last five encounters his side have had with Everton and he will be hoping to do the same in this fixture.
Brighton are the stronger of the two sides and have been in unbelievable form in the Premier League in their recent games. Everton have everything to gain and are hungry to ensure they can remain in the Premier League.
For this reason, our betting expert suggest Under 2.5 goals is the best value tip for this game. With odds at 111/100, a bet of £10 could see a return of up to £21.09
Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 Everton
