Another European matchweek comes to an end, and we’re back to domestic action across our favourite leagues in europe.
We’re taking a deep dive into Saturday’s game, where Mike Williamson’s Carlisle United host Lee Bell’s Crewe Alexandra team.
These teams are having very different seasons, with Crewe in the picture for automatic promotion, whilst Carlisle are battling relegation.
Carlisle United Predicted Line-up - Gabriel Breeze; Jon Mellish, Samuel Lavelle, Aaron Hayden; Harrison Neal, Cameron Harper, Callum Anthony Guy, Dylan McGeouch, Kadeem Harris, Daniel Adu-Adjei, Dominic Sadi
Mike Williamson hasn’t quite had the impact in League Two fans would’ve expected, be that at MK Dons or Carlisle.
That being said, Carlisle do appear to have a bit more fight in them in recent weeks.
Samuel Lavalle has looked a goal threat from defence this season.
Crewe Alexandra Predicted Line-up - Filip Marschall; Zac Williams, Mickey Demetriou, James Connoly; Max Conway, Joel Tabiner, Max Sanders, Matus Holicek, Ryan Cooney; Shilow Tracey, Omar Bogle
Crewe Alexandra have really come into their own in recent weeks, and look serious contenders for promotion this year.
They impressively drew with Darren Moore’s Port Vale last time out.
Shilow Tracey has looked lethal upfront this season, he’s scored five goals already.
In these sides last five meetings, Carlisle have won one game, and Crewe have won three.
One match resulted in a draw.
29th December 2022 - Crewe 0-3 Carlisle - League Two
1st October 2022 - Carlisle 0-0 Crewe - League Two
1st January 2020 - Crewe 4-1 Carlisle - League Two
12th October 2019 - Carlisle 2-4 Crewe - League Two
12th February 2019 - Crewe 2-1 Carlisle - League Two
It’s clear to see Crewe are the stronger team, despite Carlisle’s recent upturn in form.
That’s why I can’t believe the odds Ladbrokes are offering for a clear favourite to win this game.
Overall we think the best bet to place for this game would be Crewe Alexandra to win, backed up by our research.
Odds of 8/5 on Ladbrokes mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £26 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
Carlisle United 0-2 Crewe Alexandra
Crewe will continue their push for automatic promotion.
At the same time, Coventry City host Cardiff City.
