This Monday’s Serie A action sees Udinese make the trip to face Como at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.
Udinese are in good shape heading into this game, unbeaten in their last four Serie A matches. However that comes in the form of a loss, a win and three consecutive draws. Como on the other hand have been hit and miss. Two wins, two losses and a draw their record over their last five. Como have been bolstered in midfield with new players but Udinese haven’t lost in four games. This Monday should deliver an exciting match.
Formation: 3-5-2
Predicted Line-Up: Jean Butez; Marc Oliver Kemf, Alberto Dossena, Edoardo Goldaniga; Alieu Fadera, Maxence Caqueret, Lucas De Cunha, Igance Van der Brempt, Patrick Cutrone (c), Gabriel Strefezza; Assane Diao
Como are having a good season for a team competing back in the Serie A after 21 years in the lower divisions. They find themselves just above the relegation zone but the whole bottom half of the table are very bunched up together so they could easily climb higher. After 20 games they sit in 16th place with four wins, nine losses and seven draws. Those matches have left them with 19 points, sharing that tally with two other teams with goal difference the reason as to why they are neither higher or lower down the standings. A win and results across the league going their way and it could see Como climbing up to as high as 12th given the compactness of the Serie A right now. Stepping up this season for I Lariani has been Serie A veteran, Patrick Cutrone. He has featured in all 20 of Como’s games so far and has found the back of the net six times and registered two assists in that time frame. Como have made moves in the January transfer window, securing the signing of former Lyon midfielder Maxence Caqueret and are also linked with bringing in Dele Alli after allowing him to train with the club. They might not be goalscorers like Cutrone, but alongside him they could be the difference makers this Monday.
Formation: 3-5-2
Predicted Line-Up: Răzvan Sava; Oumar Solet, Jaka Bijol, Thomas Kristensen; Hassane Kamara, Martín Payero, Jesper Karlström, Sandi Lovrić, Rui Modesto; Lorenzo Lucca, Florian Thauvin (c)
Udinese are having a decent first half of the season, finding themselves just inside the top half of the table. After 20 games they sit in 10th place with seven wins, eight losses and five draws. Those matches have left them with 26 points with a win and results going their way across the Serie A and they could leapfrog Roma as they sit a single point behind them. In the goals for I Bianconeri has been striker Lorenzo Lucca. The 24 year old has provided seven goals in the 19 matches he has featured in. Udinese captain Florian Thauvin has also had a good season so far, amassing eight goal contributions, split into five goals and three assists. The pair of them will be leading the front line this Monday so they have the best chance to add to their tallies and make the difference against Como.
The reverse fixture was the first time that these two sides have faced each other in recent history given Como earned themselves promotion in the Serie A last season, making it a 21 year stint since they were last in the topflight of Italian football. Udinese won that match but new January signings for Como look like they could put up more of a challenge this Monday.
1st September 2024 – Udinese 1-0 Como – Serie A
Both teams have played very defensive football this season and on top of that, they have often struggled in finding the back of the net inside the first 45 minutes.
For that reason, our betting experts have gone with a First Half Draw as our best value tip for this game.
Odds of 11/10 mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £21 in this match.
