It’s the international break ladies and gentleman, but that doesn’t mean we’re giving up on our expert tips, instead we’ve done our research on the upcoming international fixtures.
We’re taking a look at Friday’s fixture, where Ivan Hasek’s Czechia side take on Sylvinho’s Albania team.
Both teams have been very evenly matched in League B group 1 of the Nations League. Whilst they’ve not played each other yet, both sides have beaten Ukraine and lost to Georgia.
The teams seem to be in a similar place at the moment, and we’ll see that in this game.
Czechia Predicted Line-up - Matej Kovar; Jaroslav Zeleny, Ladislav Krejci, Martin Vitik, Vladimir Coufal; Lukas Cerv, Tomas Soucek, Pavel Sulc; Lukas Provod, Tomas Chory, Vaclav Cerny
Czechia haven’t been excellent in recent times, demonstrated by their loss against Georgia where they conceded four. Whilst they still possess quality, consistency has been their issue so far.
Captain Tomas Soucek will be key from midfield, although solid defensively he also offers a goal threat.
Albania Predicted Line-up - Thomas Strakosha; Mario Mitaj, Marash Kumbulla, Ardian Ismajili, Elseid Hysaj; Kristjan Asllani, Nedim Bajrami, Yiber Ramadani; Arber Hoxha, Taulant Seferi, Jasir Asani
Albania have really come into their own in recent years, despite the most famous Albanian born players representing Switzerland.
Despite being grouped in the Euro 2024, they did prove their quality in a 2-2 draw with Croatia.
Missing out on key players Rey Manaj and Armando Broja will be disappointing for them.
Since 2021, the sides have met three times. Of them, each side has won one of the meetings.
One match has resulted in a draw, talk about evenly matched.
12th October 2023 - Albania 3-0 Czechia - Euro Qualification
7th September 2023 - Czechia 1-1 Albania - Euro Qualification
8th June 2021 - Czechia 2-1 Albania - Friendly
Given the head to head record between the two teams, and their very similar recent results, we think there’s a clear result to back here.
Despite Czechia’s poor defensive record, we think the lack of Broja or Manaj will balance these scales.
We think overall the best value tip is full-time draw, backed up by our research.
Odds of 11/4 on QuinnBet mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £37.50 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
Czechia 2-2 Albania
Given how evenly matched these two teams are, the only result that makes sense is a draw.
The day before this fixture, England take on Greece in the Nations League.
