Yet another international break is upon us, and whilst you can’t watch your favourite Premier League action, we can still have a flutter on some tasty EFL action.
Gary Caldwell’s Exeter City host Michael Skubala’s Lincoln City.
Both teams will be very happy with their starts to the League One campaign. Lincoln sit 5th, while Exeter sit 11th.
That being said, Exeter look like a team on the up so far.
Exeter City Predicted Line-up - Joe Whitworth; Jack McMillan, Pierce Sweeney, Tristan Crama, Ben Purrington, Ilmari Niskanen; Jack Aitchison, Ryan Woods, Edward Francis; Millenic Alli, Josh Magennis
Exeter City are strongly in the play-off conversation, given how tight League One has been this season, and they look good value for it.
Their defence has been excellent, keeping eight clean sheets so far in the first 13 games.
Joe Whitworth has been the orchestrator of that, he’s been fantastic in goal so far this season.
Lincoln City Predicted Line-up - George Wickens; Lewis Montsma, Paudie O'Connor, Sean Roughan; Tendayi Darikwa, Conor McGrandles, Ethan Hamilton, Dom Jefferies, Reeco Hackett-Fairchild; Bailey Cadamarteri, Ben House
Lincoln will be completely chuffed with how they’ve started the season. They’re solidly in the play-off spots after 14 matches, and they’ll be looking to win here to cement that further.
That being said, they’ve been inconsistent at times and can slip into draws when they make mistakes.
Ben House is their top scorer this season, so he’ll be looking to add to his tally of four.
These two sides have met 12 times since 2008. Of them, Exeter have won five games, and Lincoln have won three.
Four matches have resulted in draws.
17th February 2024 - Lincoln 1-0 Exeter - League One
28th October 2023 - Exeter 1-1 Lincoln - League One
11th March 2023 - Exeter 2-1 Lincoln - League One
30th July 2022 - Lincoln 1-1 Exeter - League One
26th February 2019 - Lincoln 1-1 Exeter - League Two
While this is going to be an extremely tight match up, I think there’s one team destined to come out on top here.
Exeter City’s defence is too strong, and they’ll look to see out the game safely here, while nullifying Lincoln’s threat.
Overall we think the best bet to place for this game would be Exeter City to win, backed up by our research.
Odds of 8/5 on QuinnBet mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £26 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
Exeter City 1-0 Lincoln City
It won’t be easy, but Exeter’s defensive solidarity will see them through.
We’ve had our say on who’s going to win League One this season.
