France have been arguably the most ruthless team at the Olympics so far this summer. Under the management of Thierry Henry, they’ve won all three of their games and are yet to concede a goal at the tournament. Although we do think France will defeat Argentina in the quarter-finals, for us, this is where their rigid defence will grow tired.
Despite a shaky opening game from Argentina, they have scored in every game they’ve played so far. They’re also off the back of two wins against Iraq and Ukraine. Additionally, Argentina will be by far the hardest opponent that they’ve faced so far. As a nation who has won the Olympic gold twice, the likes of Julian Alavarez, Thiago Almada, Giuliano Simeone etc will make things far harder to handle for France.
Yes, France have played well so far. But the likes of USA, Guinea and New Zealand do not compare with Argentina.
Nonetheless, France have been incredible so far, and are still favourites to win gold. Michael Olise for instance has a goal and two assists so far, Mateta has been quality, and not to mention the outrageous performances from Rayan Cherki. France will will this game in 90 minutes.
We’re backing France to win this game, and for both teams to score at some sensational odds of 31/10. A £10 stake on this bet could return £41.
