The Turkish Super Lig season returns this weekend with the opening fixture set to take place on Friday as last season's champions Galatasaray SK take on Hatayspor.
Galatasaray could be expected to make multiple changes in this game following the 5-0 defeat to Besiktas in the Turkish Super Cup last weekend.
Victor Nelsson will be suspended after seeing red in that game with Kerem Demirbay expected to come in after missing the previous game.
Hatayspor are expected to also make changes heading into this one with new signings Lamine Diack, Jonathan Okoronkwo and Funsho Bamgboye all fighting to make their debuts in this game.
Galatasaray SK - Fernando Muslera, Kaan Ayhan, Davinson Sanchez, Abdülkerim Bardakçı, Derrick Köhn, Lucas Torreira, Kerem Demirbay, Hakim Ziyech, Dries Mertens, Muhammed Kerem Aktürkoğlu, Mauro Icardi
Hatayspor - Erce Kardeşler, Kamil Çörekçi, Recep Burak Yılmaz, Guy Kilama, Cemali Sertel, Chandrel Massanga, Lamine Diack, Görkem Sağlam, Funsho Bamgboye, Carlos Strandberg, Jonathan Okoronkwo
Despite Michy Batshuayi making the controversial switch to Galatasaray this summer having played for both Fenerbahce and Besiktas previously, main man Icardi is still expected to start up front.
In a season where Galatasaray scored 92 league goals, Icardi managed an impressive 25 goals finishing the season as the leagues top scorer. This is something he will look to match again this season.
If there are goals in this game as we expect there will be, expect Icardi to get his name on the scoresheet.
Considering the quality of this Galatasaray team, any recent poor results are easy to ignore. They are certainly the stronger of the two teams and with defending their title this season in mind it is hard to argue against them winning in their opening fixture.
Hatayspor have proven recently though that they can get on the scoresheet and with the hosts conceding a fair few goals in recent friendlies they could manage to get on the scoresheet again here.
That is why we are backing Galatasaray SK To Win, Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 Match Goals in this game. With odds of 6/4, £10 could return a potential £25 making it our best value pick for this fixture.
This game is set to get underway on Friday 9th August 2024 at 19:00. Unfortunately though the match is unavailable to watch in the UK.
