This Friday’s La Liga action sees Getafe make the trip to face Girona at the Estadi Municipal de Montilivi. This is a big match for both teams as the table is so close together so a loss could send them flying down the standings.
Getafe come into this game in decent form, only suffering one defeat over their last five matches. Two wins, two draws and a loss the record over that time period with the loss coming curtesy of title challenging Atlético Madrid. Girona on the other hand having an abysmal time as of late, winning once and losing their other four games. This Friday looks like it should go the way of Getafe but Girona are still a side that could pose problems, despite their recent results.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Line-Up: Paulo Gazzaniga; Miguel Gutiérrez, Ladislav Krejci, Juanpe, Alejandro Francés; Iván Martín, Yangel Herrera; Bryan Gil, Donny van de Beek, Viktor Tsyganknov; Abel Ruiz
The start of this season has gone well for Girona. Playing 23 games and they sit eighth place in the league table with nine wins, 10 losses and four draws. Those results have left them with 31 points, sharing that tally with three other teams including the likes of seventh placed Real Sociedad, ninth placed Osasuna and 10th placed Mallorca. Goal difference is the reason as to why Girona aren’t higher up the table but a win with results going their way and they could climb a few places. Stepping for Blanquivermells this season has been both Cristhian Stuani and Bryan Gil who have amassed six goal contributions each. Not trailing too far behind is Miguel Gutiérrez with five but the left back is a doubt for the match, almost 100% back to full fitness after his ankle injury, the same applies to his fellow full back on the right hand side Arnau Martínez. This Friday could potentially see the pair of them make their return and help Gil and the rest of his teammates in their efforts to see three points come the final whistle.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Line-Up: David Soria; Diego Rico, Omar Alderete, Domingos Duarte, Juan Iglesias; Coba de Costa, Mauro Arambarri, Christiantus Uche, Ramón Terrats; Álex Sola, Borja Mayoral
Getafe have had an average first half to the season, finding themselves outside the top half of the table but still with a good opportunity to cross that threshold. After 23 games they sit in 14th place with six wins, eight losses and nine draws. Those matches have left them with 27 points, a differential gap of four points behind opponents Girona. In the goals for Geta Azulones has been midfielder Mauro Arambarri. The Uruguayan has found the back of the net six times this season, outranking all his teammates, including strikers. He will most probably be the star of the show once more this Friday but if he is not then his partner in the middle of the park Christiantus Uche could take that mantle. He has racked up four goal contributions, split into two goals and two assists, someone to look out for.
The last five faceoffs have been split in the favour of Girona, winning three out of five matches, losing to Getafe in the remaining two matches. This Friday seems like Getafe could sway the tide and pick up a win with the better form they have shown over recent weeks.

Everton have had a string of wins in their last couple of league games. They have been playing more attacking football under Moyes, but they still defend with a low block, especially inside the first 45 minutes meaning they won’t go guns blazing as Liverpool are a very dangerous side to face.
For that reason, our betting experts have gone with Getafe Double Chance as our best value tip for this game.
Odds of 41/50 mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £18.20 in this match.
