This Sunday’s massive Serie A clash sees third place Juventus make the trip to face second place Inter Milan at the San Siro. This result could have serious implications as both teams are in a race to catch top of the league Napoli so a win for either team is crucial.
Juventus come into this game having been unbeaten in their last five Serie A matches but they did lose mid week in the UEFA Champions League to VfB Stuttgart. Inter are in the better scoring form though as they have put the ball in the back of the net four more times than Juventus have across their last five games.
Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram is currently second in the Serie A Golden Boot race with seven goals to his name in the eight matches so far. Dušan Vlahović of Juventus sits in joint third in that race with five goals. They have a great chance to influence the game in their side’s favour making them dangerous for the opposition’s defence.
Predicted Line-Up: Yann Sommer; Alessandro Bastoni, Stefan de Vrji, Benjamin Pavard; Federico Dimarco, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Nicolò Barella, Davide Frattesi, Denzel Dumfries; Lautaro Martínez (c), Marcus Thuram
Looking to go back to back Serie A title winners, Inter Milan are currently sat in second place in the league standings, only Napoli are better off after the first eight games. Five wins, one loss and two draws means that they are sitting on 17 points, just two behind Napoli so a win in this match is a must for them if them want to achieve their goal of lifting the Scudetto once again. They have struggled with injuries early on in the season though. Francesco Acerbi, Carlos Augusto, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Kristian Asllani and Tajon Buchanan will all miss this huge match.
I Nerazzurri have the privilege of having some of the best players in the world and striker Marcus Thuram has come into his own this season. The Frenchman has grabbed himself seven goals in the opening eight games of the campaign so far and has also provided three assists. He got the crucial additional time winner that earnt Inter three points in the UEFA Champions League mid week and with the form that he is in, he could go onto get himself another one in this match on Sunday. Fellow striker and captain Lautaro Martínez scored the winner in Inter’s previous Serie A match against Roma, so he could find the back of the net in successive games.
Predicted Line-Up: Michele Di Gregorio; Juan Cabal, Pierre Kalulu, Federico Gatti, Nicolò Savona; Nicolò Fagioli, Manuel Locatelli, Khéphren Thuram; Kenan Yıldız, Dušan Vlahović, Andrea Cambiaso
Juventus haven’t won the Serie A since the 2019/20 season, but like every year, they have a great chance in doing so this season. At them moment they sit in third place in the league with just a three point gap to current leaders Napoli. Four wins and four draws means that they are sitting on 16 points, but the most impressive feat is the fact that they are the only unbeaten team in the Serie A so far. Like Inter, Juventus have also struggled with injuries early on in the season. Centre back Bremer has a cruciate ligament tear and is out for the full season. Douglas Luiz, Teun Koopmeiners, Nico González and Arkadiusz Milik also have problems however they are expected to make their returns towards the end of November, still missing this game though.
Despite losing arguably their best defender in Bremer, The Old Lady have been phenomenal in defence. They have conceded only one goal this season, the best in the league by far. The combined efforts of goalkeepers Michele Di Gregorio and Mattia Perin have ensured that Juventus have kept clean sheets in all but one of the eight matches in the Serie A. On the other side of the pitch and striker Dušan Vlahović has grabbed himself five goals as well as young talented Turkish winger Kenan Yıldız has amassed two goals domestically. They will be delighted knowing that they will come up against Inter Milan when they are missing key defender Acerbi.
There have been 238 matches where these two teams have faced each other throughout history.
Juventus come into this match holding an advantage over Inter Milan as they have come out victors on 109 occasions, 39 more times than Inter’s 70 wins in this fixture. A draw has happened 59 times out of the 238 games, leaving Juve with a 45.8% win percentage.
The last five faceoffs have been split in the favour of Inter Milan, winning two out of the five matches. Juventus have come out victorious once in those five and the other two matches ended up with the two sides sharing a point. It still is an open game and it could go down to the wire this Sunday.

Both teams look good coming into this match with Inter in great scoring form but Juventus in terrific defensive shape. This match will be a very close affair and we feel like it is too difficult to predict a match winner out of the two clubs.
For that reason, our betting experts have gone with a Draw as our best value tip for this game.
Odds of 5/2 mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £35 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
