We are now just over halfway through the league season in the Turkish Super Lig, and the table is starting to take shape. Two teams near the wrong end of the table are Kasimpasa and Hatayspor. Hatayspor have been, without a doubt, one of the worst teams in the league this season, and while Kasimpasa have been better, they still don’t win enough games to be comfortable.
Kasimpasa’s form this season has been similar all the way through, as they have tended to draw games rather than win or lose. Their last win came back in December against fifth placed Eyupspor. Since then they have drawn three times and lost just once, although that was a 5-0 embarrassment away to Goztepe.
Hatayspor have been poor all season. While they have just one win, they aren’t bottom of the league due to their ability to grind out the occasional draw. Adana Demirspor are on just five points having won twice and drawn twice. Hatayspor’s only win this season came in November against Gaziantep when they came away as 3-1 winners.
Kasimpasa Predicted Lineup - Andreas Gianniotis; Kevin Rodrigues, Sadik Ciftpinar, Taylan Aydin, Claudio Winck; Gokhan Gul; Josip Brekalo, Aytac Kara, Haris Hajradinovic, Mortadha Ben Ouanes; Mamadou Fall
Kasimpasa might have some issues with scoring in this match as their top scorer this season, Nuno Da Costa is injured. He has eight league goals to his name, with the next most three. Both Aytac Kara and Josip Brekalo have three league goals this season, not nearly enough to replace Da Costa as the club’s main source of goals. Brekalo is one of two players currently on loan from Italian side Fiorentina, as Antonin Barak is also contracted under the Serie A club.
Hatayspor Predicted Lineup - Visar Bekaj; Cemali Sertel, Francisco Calvo, Guy Kilama, Kamil Corekci; Abdulkadir Parmak, Lamine Diack, Gerkem Saglam; Joelson Fernandes, Vincent Aboubakar, Rigoberto Rivas
Like Kasimpasa, Hatayspor will struggle in this game to score because of the lack of a proven goalscorer in their squad. While their top scorers aren’t injured, they don’t have any players who have scored more than three times in the league this season. Both Carlos Strandberg and Vincent Aboubakar have three goals in the league this season and because of his prevalence in the Super Lig for Besiktas in the past, Aboubakar is likely to get the nod up top over his Swedish counterpart.
In recent years, this fixture has been relatively even, with both sides triumphing over the other, as well as a number of draws too. They faced each other on the opening day of the season at Hatayspor and the match ended 1-1, as have many of the games both have played over the course of the season. Nuno Da Costa scored a last minute winner for Kasimpasa in that match.
19th Aug 2024 - Hatayspor 1-1 Kasimpasa - Super Lig
20th Jan 2024 - Kasimpasa 3-0 Hatayspor - Super Lig
19th Aug 2023 - Hatayspor 0-0 Kasimpasa - Super Lig
5th Feb 2023 - Hatayspor 1-0 Kasimpasa - Super Lig
28th Aug 2022 - Kasimpasa 1-0 Hatayspor - Super Lig
Both teams are in mixed form, having drawn a lot of their last few games, but the league table suggests that Kasimpasa should have the upper hand. However, with their main striker being injured, I think that this game will be a tight affair and that Hatayspor will throw everything they’ve got at getting a result here.
With all of this in mind, our team of professional experts have decided that the best tip for this game is for a Full Time Draw. Odds of 14/5 on CopyBet means that a £10 bet could see a potential return of £38.50.
