Who doesn’t love Friday night football? We know we love it. So as always, we’re striving to bring you the best possible tips and predictions for some Serie A action.
Luca Gotti’s Lecce side host Roberto D’Aversa’s Empoli team.
Empoli will certainly be the happier of the two sides coming into this fixture. They sit at a respectable 11th, whilst their opponents occupy 20th spot in the Serie A table.
Lecce Predicted Line-up - Wladimiro Falcone; Frederic Guilbert, Kialonda Gaspar, Federico Baschirotto, Antonio Gallo; Lassana Coulibaly, Yiber Ramadani, Hamza Rafia; Patrick Dorgu, Nikola Krstovic, Lameck Banda
Lecce have been quite frankly dreadful in the first quarter of the Serie A season, scoring just four goals and conceding 20.
That being said, we’d expect them to take up a more attacking stance for this game, as they sense an opportunity for a result.
Patrick Dorgu has scored two from midfield, having transitioned from a full-back last year, and the youngster will be looking to prove his ability here.
Empoli Predicted Line-up - Devis Vasquez; Mattie Viti, Ardian Ismajli, Saba Goglichidze; Emmanuel Gyasi, Yousseff Maleh, Liam Henderson, Faustino Anjorin, Giuzeppe Pezzella; Ola Solbakken; Lorenzo Colombo
Empoli on the other hand, have had a much more promising start to the La Liga campaign, despite only winning two games also.
What they have done is become very difficult to beat, resulting in having five draws to their name already this campaign.
Saba Goglichidze is expected to return to their defence following his suspension, and he’ll be vital for the away side.
These two sides have met 12 times since 2003. Of their meetings, Lecce have won three games, and Empoli have won four.
Five matches have resulted in a draw.
13th April 2024 - Lecce 1-0 Empoli - Serie A
11th December 2023 - Empoli 1-1 Lecce - Serie A
3rd April 2023 - Empoli 1-0 Lecce - Serie A
28th August 2022 - Lecce 1-1 Empoli - Serie A
10th May 2021 - Empoli 2-1 Lecce - Serie B
Whilst Lecce have struggled so far this season, their upcoming match against Empoli provides a really good chance to pick up some points.
Empoli might be good, but the majority of their results have been draws this season, and we could certainly see them getting another one.
Overall we think the best bet to place for this game would be a draw, backed up by our research.
Odds of 21/10 on QuinnBet mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £31 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
Lecce 1-1 Empoli
Lecce will get their third draw of the season, and Empoli their 6th.
