Top of the table Leeds United host midtable Millwall in this midweek Championship fixture, the Whites’ 17-game unbeaten streak came to an end last Sunday, falling to defeat against Portsmouth. This loss has allowed Sheffield United and Burnley to lessen the gap for the title race, Millwall on the other hand are seven points off the playoffs in 12th, and therefore have an outside chance of making the top six if their form is good enough.
Leeds have won four, drawn one and lost one across their last six games, they continuously are one of the most in form teams in the league and boast an array of talent. However, their title rivals Burnley and Sheffield United are in better form, with the Whites not wanting a repeat of last season’s failure to reach the Premier League.
Predicted Line Up: Meslier; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Firpo; Tanaka, Gruev; James, Aaronson, Solomon; Piroe
Junior Firpo has two goals and five assists in his last seven league games, the fullback is a part of the second best defence in the league and is also strong going forward. Before defeat to Portsmouth, Firpo had scored in two straight league games. He also recently got a hat trick of assists against Cardiff City, so could be one to watch.
Millwall are in indifferent form, with two wins, draws and losses in their last six games, the two wins came in their last three games, however. It often seems like Millwall are destined to be stuck in the Championship forever, constantly finishing a matter of points away from the playoffs in the midtable region.
Predicted Line Up: Jensen; Crama, Tanganga, Cooper, Bryan; De Norre, Mitchell; Honeyman, Cundle, Azeez; Coburn
Middlesbrough loanee Josh Coburn has returned to Millwall action after a long absence from the squad with two goals in his last three Championship games, earning himself a starting spot last time out. He is expected to start again and could do some damage against Leeds.
Leeds and Millwall have met 44 times altogether, Millwall have 20 wins, one more than Leeds United with 19, and there have been five draws. Millwall won both of the meetings between the sides earlier this season, including in the FA Cup a few weeks ago. The last five meetings between these two are as follows:
This is a must-win game for Leeds United as they will want to prevent falling into a spell of bad form, as one of the strongest sides on paper in the league winning should not be too difficult. For this reason, our betting experts say Leeds United to Win is the best value tip for this game. With odds at 2/7, a bet of £10 could see a potential return of up to £12.90.
