This Saturday’s Premier League clash sees Brentford make the trip to face Leicester City Palace at the King Power Stadium. This is a big match for the home side and their hopes of escaping the relegation zone.
Leicester City come into this game in abysmal form, only winning one game from their last five, losing all of the other four matches. Amongst those losses is a streak of three consecutive matches where they have failed to pick up any points. To add insult to injury, Leicester have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 21 games. Brentford on the other hand have been in hit and miss form, winning twice, losing twice and drawing in their remaining match. They beat West Ham United in their most recent match so the confidence from that game could be a good thing for them heading into this Friday’s game.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Leicester City Predicted Lineup: Mads Hermansen; Luke Thomas, Wout Faes, Caleb Okoli, James Justin; Boubakary Soumaré, Wilfred Ndidi; Jordan Ayew, Bilal El Khannouss, Bobby De Cordova-Reid; Jamie Vardy (c)
Leicester City have had a poor first half of the season off the back of being promoted back into the Premier League after a year’s stint in the Championship. They find themselves just inside the relegation zone after 25 games, sitting in 19th place with four wins, 16 losses and five draws. Those matches have left them with 17 points, sharing that tally with 18th placed Ipswich Town but it is goal difference that keeps them closer to escaping the bottom three. In the goals for The Foxes has been Leicester City hero and veteran, Jamie Vardy. Even at the age of 38 he is still helping his team outperform where they should be, contributing to 10 goals, split into seven of his own and three assists. With the rest of the team being very lacklustre in front of goal this season, it should be Vardy that is the difference maker this Friday in the behemoth task of trying to grab a vital three points versus Brentford this Friday.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Brentford Predicted Lineup: Mark Flekken; Keane Lewis-Potter, Sepp van den Berg, Nathan Collins, Michael Kayode; Vitaly Janelt, Christian Nørgaard (c); Kevin Schade, Mikkel Damsgaard, Bryan Mbeumo; Yoane Wissa
Brentford have started the first half of the season well for their standards, finding themselves just outside the top half of the table. Playing 25 games and they sit 11th place in the standings with 10 wins, 11 losses and four draws. Those results have left them with 34 points, three points behind 10th placed Brighton & Hove Albion so a win with result heading their way and Brentford would be able to leapfrog them into the top 10 teams in the Premier League. Thomas Frank has yet again been one of the most underrated managers in the Premier League, getting the best out of his players. Two of those Brentford players in particular have been the duo of Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo. They have massively stepped up for The Bees, both achieving the double-digit mark for goals involvements, Wissa with 13 and Mbeumo with 17. The pair of them have been impressive for a couple of seasons now but they have really relished under more minutes. They will most likely be the ones to make the difference for their club this Friday.
The last five faceoffs have been split in the favour of Leicester City, winning two of the five matches, drawing two and losing the remaining match against Brentford. They might struggle with the lack of attacking prowess as they have been especially poor in front of goal. Brentford have been solid all over the pitch, looking like they could grab three points this Friday.
