Another European matchweek comes to an end, and we’re back to domestic action across the top five leagues.
We’re taking a deep dive into Friday’s game, where Jagoba Arrasate’s Mallorca host Ruben Barasa’s Valencia.
Mallorca will certainly be the happier of the two with the league standings, they’re overperforming in eighth position.
Valencia will be hugely disappointed they’re somehow sat in the relegation zone.
Mallorca Predicted Line-up - Dominik Greif; Mateu Morey, Martin Valjent, Antonio Raillo, Johan Mojica; Robert Navarro, Manu Morlanes, Samu Costa, Sergi Darder; Dani Rodriguez, Cyle Larin
Mallorca had a fantastic start to the season, although their form did fizzle out a little bit in recent weeks.
That being said, they did return to form with a fantastic 3-2 win over Las Palmas last time out.
The team will be similar, although Cyle Larin will likely replace the suspended Vedat Muriqi.
Valencia Predicted Line-up - Giorgi Mamardashvili; Dimitiri Foulquier, Cesar Tarrega, Cristhian Mosquera, Yarek Gasiorowski, Jose Gaya; Luis Rioja, Enzo Barrenechea, Javier Guerra, Diego Lopez; Hugo Duro
In a different vein, Valencia’s form is finally starting to improve in recent weeks, and they’ll be glad to see that.
I’d expect no changes from their 4-2 win over Betis in La Liga.
Hugo Duro will certainly be looking to recreate his form in that game, he scored two last time out.
In these teams last five meetings, Valencia have won one and Mallorca have won two.
There has been two draws in that time.
30th March 2024 - Valencia 0-0 Mallorca - La Liga
7th October 2023 - Mallorca 1-1 Valencia - La Liga
25th May 2023 - Mallorca 1-0 Valencia - La Liga
22nd October 2022 - Valencia 1-2 Mallorca - La Liga
26th February 2022 - Mallorca 0-1 Valencia - La Liga
If this game had been scheduled for a few weeks ago, I’d probably feel very differently.
That being said, I can’t ignore Valencia’s recent turn around in form, and can’t help but feel their squad’s strength will see them through here.
Overall we think the best bet to place for this game would be Valencia to win, backed up by our research.
Odds of 67/20 on HighBet mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £45.50 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
Mallorca 1-2 Valencia
An exciting game is right ahead of us, and I think Valencia could return to their best.
At the same time, Sheffield United host Sunderland.
