Ruben Amorim takes charge of his first home Premier League match on Sunday 1st December 2024 as his Man United side take on Everton.
Amorim looks to get his first Premier League win and climb the table with Manchester United as they take on a struggling Everton side who cannot pick up a win. But will they claim victory?
Manchester United Predicted Line Up - Andre Onana; Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs De Ligt, Lisandro Martinez; Diogo Dalot, Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo; Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund, Bruno Fernandes
Man United have struggled this season but are on a good run post Erik Ten Hag’s sacking. They are currently twelfth in the league having picked up 16 points. A win could take them into the top eight though which would be massive for Amorim and his side.
They don’t tend to concede goals. Andre Onana has picked up more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper so far. They have only conceded 13 overall though - the third least in the league. The issue lies with scoring in the league having only managed 13. However they have scored 15 goals in six so they will be hopeful for goals here.
Everton Predicted Lineup - Jordan Pickford; Vitalii Mykolenko, Jarrad Branthwaite, James Tarkowski, Ashley Young; Idrissa Gueye, Abdoulaye Doucouré; Iliman Ndiaye, Dwight McNeil, Jesper Lindstrøm; Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Everton sit 15th in the league on just eleven points. This is just two points off the relegation zone. A win here will put them in good stead to move away from that drop.
This season they have conceded 17 goals in their 12 games played. This is the joint fifth least. They have a fairly good defensive record. Their issue lies with scoring goals having only managed ten this year - the joint second least in the league.
Man United and Everton have played each other 213 times in their histories. The Red Devils have a huge advantage with 95 wins to their names. While Sean Dyche’s side have only managed 71 wins in this fixture. There have also been 47 draws.
That being said, United have also lost just one of the last twelve games against Everton. This includes five wins in the last five as well. Everton haven’t won at Old Trafford since December 2013. Will that change here?
9th March 2024 - Manchester United 2-0 Everton - Premier League
26th November 2023 - Everton 0-3 Manchester United - Premier League
8th April 2023 - Manchester United 2-0 Everton - Premier League
6th January 2023 - Manchester United 3-1 Everton - FA Cup
9th October 2022 - Everton 1-2 Manchester United - Premier League
This should be a fairly simple win for Amorim’s Man United. Everton will continue to struggle and continue their shocking form against Man United. The hosts will win.
