Yet another international break is upon us, and whilst it might not be your favourite time of the year, there’s still value to be found.
We’re taking a look at Friday’s game, where Michael O’Neill’s Northern Ireland host Carlos Alos' Belarus.
Both teams have had positive starts to the Nations League, with Northern Ireland topping the group and Belarus.
Northern Ireland Predicted Line-up - Luke Southwood; Trai Hume, Paddy McNair, Eoin Toal, Ciaron Brown, Jamal Lewis; Conor Bradley, George Saville, Shea Charles, Issac Price; Dion Charles
Northern Ireland have really impressed so far in the Nations League, especially with their goalscoring abilities.
Their 5-0 demolition of Bulgaria proved just how lethal they can be in the final third.
Issac Price was vital in that game, he bagged a hattrick that he’ll be looking to replicate against Belarus.
Belarus Predicted Line-up - Fedor Lapoukhov; Zakhar Volkov, Aleksandr Martynovich, Pavel Zabelin; Sergei Karpovich, Evgeni Yablonsky, Max Ebong, Kiryl Pyachenin; Valeri Gromyko, Yevgeni Shikavka, Dmitri Antilevski
Belarus, ranked 97th in world football, have impressed so far in the Nations League.
They’re punching above their weight, and haven’t lost a single game so far in this year's competition.
Gromyko has one goal and one assist already, so he’ll be very important to proceedings.
These two sides have met four times since 2016. Of their meetings, Northern Ireland have won three.
One match between the two sides has resulted in a draw
12th October 2024 - Belarus 0-0 Northern Ireland - Nations League
11th June 2019 - Belarus 0-1 Northern Ireland - Euro Qualification
24th March 2019 - Northern Ireland 2-1 Belarus – Euro Qualification
27th May 2016 - Northern Ireland 3-0 Belarus - Friendly
Despite Belarus really punching above their weight so far, we think that probably ends here.
Northern Ireland looked too dangerous in front of goal last time out for the away side to pose any real threat.
Overall we think the best bet to place for this game would be Northern Ireland to win & over 1.5 goals, backed up by our research.
Odds of 19/20 on Ladbrokes mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £19.50 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
Northern Ireland 2-0 Belarus
It will certainly be a tight affair, but Northern Ireland’s attacking strength will shine through.
At the same time, Scotland host Croatia.
