This Saturday’s Serie A action sees Torino make the trip to face Parma at the Stadio Ennio Tardini. This is a big match for the home side with them on the cusp of entering the relegation zone.
Both teams head into this game in contrasting form to each other. Over Parma’s last five games they have won once and lost four, not helped with the massive injury list they currently suffer from. Torino on the other hand have achieved two wins, two draws and one loss. They’ve put together a two gam winning streak and will look to continue that this Sunday.
Formation: 4-3-3
Parma Predicted Line-Up: Zion Suzuki; Emanuele Valeri, Botond Balogh, Lautaro Valenti, Enrico Del Prato (c); Simon Sohm, Nahuel Estévez, Mandela Keita; Matteo Cancellieri, Ange-Yoan Bonny, Dennis Man
After looking like they could get their season back on track with a win against UEFA Champions League chasing Bologna two games ago, Parma were back to losing in their last game versus Udinese. That makes it loss number 14 from the 27 Serie A games they’ve participated in so far. Alongside the long list of defeats have been five wins and eight draws, leaving Parma with 23 points and residing in 17th place in the table. That tally has them just a single point above the relegation zone but three points away from climbing to as high as 14th place, leapfrogging Hellas Verona.
I Crociati have been poor as of late picking up just the one win from their last five with them losing all of the other four remaining matches. Nine players from their squad look to be unavailable in this Saturday’s match but someone who looks like they can make the difference for Parma against Torino is striker Ange-Yoan Bonny. The 21-year-old has netted five goals and recorded two assists in the 26 matches he’s featured in this season. Playing against a team that has been much better than them this season might be a challenge but if he is on form then it might not be the struggle people have been anticipating.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Torino Predicted Line-Up: Vanja Milinković-Savić; Cristiano Biraghi, Saúl Coco, Guillermo Maripán, Sebastian Walukiewicz; Cesare Casadei, Samuele Ricci (c); Eljif Elmas, Nikola Vlašić, Valentino Lazaro; Antonio Sanabria
Torino have been good over the last two weeks, achieving consecutive wins, reaching eight on the season now. They are currently occupying 1th place after 27 games, adding nine losses and 10 draws to those eight wins, leaving them with a tally of 34 points. The European places and relegation are both mathematically off the cards for Torino so they will look to see off the remaining Serie A matches as best they can.
Il Toro made so smart transfer business in the summer before the season kicked off, bringing in Scotsman Ché Adams on a free. The former Southampton man has been relishing in his first season in Italy, bagging seven goals and three assists from the 25 games he’s featured in so far. However, it looks like Torino boss Paolo Vanoli looks to prefer Antonio Sanabria this Saturday with Adams likely to come off the bench to face fatigued legs. Nikola Vlašić and Valentino Lazaro have both gotten themselves six goal involvements each this campaign and will be excellent options if Sanabria fails to make an impact against Parma.
The last five faceoffs have been split in the favour of Torino, winning and drawing twice with Parma defeating them in the remaining match. Parma have should glimmers of hope this season and they could snatch all three points this Saturday, some that they are desperate need for.
