The Australian A-League returns for another thrilling instalment as Macarthur FC make the trip to Perth Glory on Friday afternoon. Currently fighting at the bottom of the league, home side Perth Glory will be praying their attack can conjure up something they have not so far this season. Travelling side Macarthur FC will be looking to build on a positive but nothing too special run of form and hoping that with a struggling opponent, a win is guaranteed.
Perth Glory come into this game off the back of a win, defeating bottom of the league in a game in which their attack was clinical, managing six shots on target from nine. However, they have conceded a whopping 12 goals in their last five games.
Their counterpart on the other hand has enjoyed a nice run of four games unbeaten and have managed seven goals scored and seven goals conceded. The Bulls have had shown up well for their away days, having won twice and drawn once from a possible four games so far this season, a down in the dumps Perth Glory will be viewed by their team as a stepping stone.
Formation: 4-4-2
Predicted Line-Up; Cameron Cook; Riley Warland, Tomislva Mrcela, Andriano Lebib, Joshua Risdon; Trent Ostler, Nicholas Pennington, Taras Gomulka, Abdelelah Faisal; David Williams, Adam Bugarija
Woeful is the only word to really describe how Perth Glory have been performing so far this season. With only five points from nine games and only finding the back of the net five times, it is safe to say that Perth Glory have not got an attack that defenders will be all too worried about.
Adam Taggart has been the only striker to show any sort of fear to the opposing defence, picking up a brace against second place side Adelaide United but it looks as though he will still be out with an illness that forced him to miss his sides first win of the season over Brisbane last week.
Formation: 4-4-1-1
Predicted Line-Up: Filip Kurto; Ivan Vujica, Oliver Jones, Joshua Damevski, Kealey Adamson; Marin Jakolis, Jake Hollman, Luke Brattan, Jed Drew; Daniel De Silva; Valère Germain
The only thing holding Macarthur FC from pushing up the table is wins, with three draws in their last five matches, it is a mystery as to what is missing from this Macarthur side. The Bulls go into this game as the joint-third highest scoring team in the league and attacking midfielder Daniel De Silva will be looking to continue his goalscoring form after picking up an early one in their last game against the Central Coast Mariners.
Centre Back Tomislav Uskok picked up a red card in the dying embers of their last game, meaning the nod could be given to 19-year-old Joshua Damevski, who has already made two appearances so far this season.
These two sides faced off against each other in the opening game of the season and Macarthur FC dealt a thrashing to their opponents, sending Perth Glory packing six goals to one. Winger Marin Jakolis got himself a nice little brace in that game and will be searching for more of the same in this one.
After smashing their opponents three months ago and with Perth Glory looking pretty useless in front of goal, this game has Macarthur FC written all over it.
For that reason, our betting experts have gone with Macarthur FC to Win as the best value tip for this game. With odds of 10/11, a bet of £10 could see a return of £19.09.
(odds subject to change)
Perth Glory 0-3 Macarthur FC
It has taken Perth Glory three months to get their first win of the season and considering the hammering they dished out last time, we believe Macarthur FC will return home with all three points.
