Third and fourth placed Poland and Scotland face each other on Monday 18th November 2024 in the final game of the UEFA Nations League League A Group One group stage.
Both teams have picked up the same amount of points as it stands and there is still hope of a top two finish if one of these sides can beat the other - and things go their way in the other game in the group between Croatia and Portugal. But who will come out on top in this one?
Poland Predicted Lineup - Marcin Bułka; Jakub Kiwior, Jan Bednarek, Kamil Piątkowski; Nicola Zalewski, Piotr Zieliński, Taras Romanczuk, Kacper Urbanski, Bartosz Bereszyński; Krzysztof Piątek, Mateusz Bogusz
Poland have picked up four points in the group so far and come into this game looking to bounce back following a heavy defeat against Portugal in their last match. However they were victorious against Scotland last time out.
They have scored a fairly impressive eight goals so far this year however they have conceded 14 goals. Something they will be desperate to change in this game. Especially if they wish to claim second place.
Scotland Predicted Lineup - Craig Gordon; Andrew Robertson, Grant Hanley, John Souttar, Anthony Ralston; Kenny McLean, Billy Gilmour; Ryan Christie, Scott McTominay, Ben Doak; Tommy Conway
Scotland have also picked up four points thus far from five games. But they currently sit bottom of the group. Their only win came in their previous match as they beat Croatia impressively thanks to a goal from John McGinn late on.
They have only scored five goals this Nations League campaign but if they can get scoring here there may be some hope for them finishing second in this group. They will just need to avoid conceding any more - they have conceded seven so far.
There have been twelve games between Poland and Scotland previous to this game.
The majority of the games have actually ended in a draw (6) but Poland have the advantage of the two sides having won four games to Scotland’s two victories.
In fact Scotland have failed to win any of the last four games against Poland. The Scots last victory against Poland came back in March 2014. Will that continue here?
5th September 2024 - Scotland 2-3 Poland - UEFA Nations League
24th March 2022 - Scotland 1-1 Poland - International Friendly
8th October 2015 - Scotland 2-2 Poland - UEFA European Championships Qualifying
14th October 2014 - Poland 2-2 Scotland - UEFA European Championships Qualifying
5th March 2014 - Poland 0-1 Scotland - International Friendly
This is bound to be an interesting game with so much at stake. Poland will be keen to bounce back after a tough defeat while Scotland will come into this confident after their last victory. However, we think Poland just have the edge and should win this game.
Expect plenty of goals in this game as well though. It will be close.
We are backing Poland To Win and Both Teams To Score at odds of 100/30. These odds mean that £10 can return up to £43.33.
(Odds subject to change)
Poland 2-1 Scotland
