We’re taking a look at an exciting clash in League Two, the league’s been blown wide open so far this season, so we’ve really had to do our research here.
Darren Moore’s Port Vale host Johnnie Jackson’s AFC Wimbledon.
Both teams will be very pleased with their starts to the season. Port Vale are top of the League Two, thanks to their impressive recent form.
Wimbledon have looked good in patches, but need to add consistency.
Port Vale Predicted Line-up - Connor Ripley; Connor Hall, Ben Heneghan, Jesse Debrah; Conor Grant, Ronan Curtis, Ryan Crossdale, Ben Garrity, Thomas Sang; Ruari Paton, Lorent Tolaj
Port Vale have been undebatably fantastic so far in League Two this season, and deserve their position at the top of the table.
Whilst they might not have scored as many, or even kept as many out, compared to the other top teams in the league they have simply been nearly impossible to beat.
Lorent Tolaj’s knowhow and ability will be vital in this game.
AFC Wimbledon Predicted Line-up - Owen Goodman; Joe Lewis, James Ball, Ryan Johnson; Josh Neufville, Callum Maycock, Alistair Smith, Myles Hippolyte, James Tilley; Matthew Stevens, Omar Bugiel
Wimbledon, despite their struggles off the pitch this year, have had a respectable season so far. They’ve done really well in recent fixtures, but also lost some in disappointing fashion.
Their 3-0 win against Morecambe last time out stands out as a complete performance.
Omar Bugiel will be looking to replicate his form in that game once again.
These two sides have faced each other six times since 2011. Of these games, Port Vale have won two, and Wimbledon have won three.
One of these matches resulted in a draw.
1st April 2017 - Port Vale 2-0 Wimbledon - League One
17th December 2016 - Wimbledon 4-0 Port Vale - League One
5th February 2013 - Port Vale 3-0 Wimbledon - League Two
24th January 2013 - Wimbledon 4-0 Port Vale - League Two
14th January 2012 - Port Vale 1-2 Wimbledon - League Two
Despite me having a great appreciation for how Wimbledon have been during their highs this season, they’re just too inconsistent for me to see them winning here.
In all fairness, I don’t think I could currently pick any team to go away and defeat Darren Moore’s Port Vale.
Odds of 23/20 on QuinnBet mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £21.50 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
Port Vale 2-0 AFC Wimbledon
Port Vale will prove why they’re top of League Two.
