What a competition. The winners of the Champions League take on the winners of the Europa League, for the title of Super Cup winners.
Let's be honest, the Champions League winners usually have the advantage here. This time is no different.
Real Madrid already had a strong side, perhaps the strongest in the world. Ballon d’Or tipped Vinicius Jr, England’s Jude Bellingham and wonderkid Arda Guler just some of the huge names on their roster. Now they’ve secured the services of probably the best player in the world, Kylian Mbappe. I think this is the start of an even more dominant period for Real Madrid.
Mbappe will be hungry to score on his competitive debut for Los Blancos. Should he start, I wouldn’t put it past the Frenchman to get on the scoresheet in the first half.
To add to that, despite their Europa League final heroics, Atalanta have had a relatively poor pre-season. The Italian side have lost their last two matches against Parma and St Pauli, both by a three goal margin. Atalanta won’t be full of confidence coming into this game against arguably Europe's best side.
I think this will be an easy match for Real Madrid, and the scoreline will reflect that.
Research considered, our experts are backing Real Madrid to win the first half. The odds on this are significantly better than just a bet on Real Madrid to win the game. At odds of 11/10 on QuinnBet, a £10 stake would return a very decent £21.
The match can be watched live in the UK on TNT Sports 1.
