The UEFA Nations League commences this week with a lot of different intriguing International fixtures set to take place. One of which sees Scotland host Poland at Hampden Park.
Since 1958 these two nations have taken each other on on 11 occasions.
Poland have the advantage over this week's hosts having won 3 of those games to Scotland’s 2 however the majority of matches between them have ended in draws (6).
Believe it or not Scotland haven’t lost to Poland since May 1980. However the last time they won themselves was back in 2014.
Unfortunately for the hosts Scotland have seen multiple players pull out of their squad this month due to injury. Che Adams, James Forrest and Greg Taylor all pulled out.
However they will have Connor Barron, Josh Doig, Jon McCracken, Ryan Gould and Max Johnston all of which have never been capped.
Poland will also be missing multiple players that are normally called up. Kamil Grosicki and Wojciech Szczęsny are now both retired with Arkadiusz Milik also missing out with injury.
Scotland - Angus Gunn, Ryan Porteous, Grant Hanley, Scott McKenna, Anthony Ralston, Callum McGregor, Billy Gilmour, Andrew Robertson, Scott McTominay, John McGinn, Lyndon Dykes
Poland - Łukasz Skorupski, Jan Bednarek, Paweł Dawidowicz, Jakub Kiwior, Przemysław Frankowski, Piotr Zielinski, Bartosz Slisz, Jakub Moder, Nicola Zalewski, Karol Świderski, Robert Lewandowski
Much like every time they play, the man to watch for Poland has to be Robert Lewandowski.
The clinical striker has so often been Poland’s main man, often popping up with crucial goals in games. And with the start to the season he has had, which has seen him score 4 goals in 4 games for Barcelona, he could have an impact once again.
This game is bound to be a close fixture. With the similarities between the two squads we aren’t sure either side will have the advantage over the other.
Alongside this, the history of this fixture suggests that we are bound to see another draw in this game as we so often have in the past.
That is why our team of professional betting experts have selected Half Time/Full Time Draw/Draw as our best value pick in this game. And with odds of 7/2, £10 has the potential to return up to £46.
This game is set to get underway on Thursday 5th September 2024 at 19:45 UK time. However, unfortunately this game won’t be televised in the UK.
