The International Break is still going much to the disappointment of all the UEFA Nations League haters. Either way here at Football Park we have a tip from our betting expert for Monday night's game between Slovenia and Kazakhstan.
Euro 2024 might have ended a bit too early for Slovenian fans after they exited the competition in the Round of 16 stage to Portugal by way of a heartbreaking penalty shootout after neither side could find the back of the net after 120 minutes.
They drew all of their games in that tournament and that streak has continued on as in their previous match against Austria, they once again shared the points. Massive young talent Benjamin Sesko saw that Slovenia were ahead after his spot kick found the back of the net in the 18th minute, but Bayern Munich’s Konrad Laimer equalised just 10 minutes later. That’s now six matches in a row where Slovenia have been involved in a draw, but this match seems like the best possibility to stop that streak.
The Zmajčeki will be playing against Kazakhstan for the third time on Monday. The two previous matches have gone in their way handing out 2-1 defeats on both occasions as part of their Euro 2024 qualification campaign.
Kazakhstan amazingly managed to hold goal scoring machine Erling Haaland and his Norway team to a goalless draw in their first match of this year’s UEFA Nations League campaign on Friday. They faced a total of 19 shots and only achieved 29% possession but somehow left that match sharing a point with their opponents. Last time out in the Nations League and they were in the C band, an improved B band for this time round as they topped the group consisting off themselves, Azerbaijan, Slovakia and Belarus.
The Hawk’s last win was back in March when they beat Turkmenistan 2-0 and they will try and make the growing list of defeats come to an end this Monday. They will play against Slovenia again when October comes around but at least that time round they will have a better understanding of how to play based on this match in which they will be trying to leave with all three points.
Our betting experts have gone with Slovenia To Win + Over 1.5 Goals. Despite holding onto a 0-0 draw against Norway, we can see Kazakhstan crumbling in this won. In the only two matches that these two sides have played against each other, it has ended 2-1 in favour of Slovenia. We can see this match having more than two goals once again, so for that reason we’ve gone with over 1.5 goals.
Through our bookmakers you can get odds as good as 4/5 via Coral. Provided a £10 stake is placed, you could see winnings of £18.
