After a mid-week of European hustle and bustle, some of the teams that don’t compete continentally take up the Friday night slots. The first of the leagues we’re taking an educated punt on is the Serie A.
Paolo Vanoli’s Torino host Cesc Fabregas’ Como 1907 side.
Both teams will be slightly disappointed with their performances so far this season. Torino sit 9th in the table, while Como sit 14th.
Only two points separate the teams, so it could be a vital match-up in terms of shaping the league table.
Torino Predicted Line-up - Vanja Milinkovic-Savic; Sebastian Walukiewicz, Saul Coco, Adam Masina; Valentino Lazaro, Samuele Ricci, Karol Linetty, Nikola Vlasic, Mergim Vojvoda; Che Adams, Antonio Sanabria
Whilst Torino started the season well, with a draw against AC Milan and a win over Atalanta, they’ve slipped into a spell of bad form.
They’ve lost their last four, but will see Como as a perfect opportunity to return to winning ways.
Captain Karol Linetty will be key to lead his side through this tough period
Como 1907 Predicted Line-up - Emil Audero; Ignace Van Der Brempt, Marc-Oliver Kempf, Alberto Dossena, Alberto Moreno; Maximo Perrone, Sergi Roberto; Gabriel Strefezza, Nico Paz, Alieu Fadera; Patrick Cutrone
Como will be unlikely to change their lineup, since they performed so well in their 1-1 draw with Parma.
They’ve done pretty well for a promoted side, although after all the hype this summer they probably expected to be further away from the relegation zone at this stage of the season.
Captain Patrick Cutrone’s experience at this level will be as vital as always.
These two sides have faced each other twice since 2003. Of these games, Como have won one, and one was drawn.
It’s a small sample size, which suggests the whopping size difference between the two sides, they haven’t faced each other often because Torino have been in a significantly higher division.
24th May 2003 - Como 1-0 Torino - Serie A
19th January 2003 - Torino 0-0 Como - Serie A
Despite Torino’s really poor form, this game actually indicates a great opportunity for them to turn their fortune around.
Como have been quite impressive, but they’ll be nothing for the might of Torino’s squad.
We think overall the best value tip is Torino to win, backed up by our research.
Odds of 29/20 on Ladbrokes mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £24.50 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
Torino 1-0 Como 1907
Torino will stop the rot they’re facing, with a win over Como
Elsewhere in the Serie A, Udinese take on Cagliari.
