It’s the international break ladies and gentleman, but that doesn’t mean we’re giving up on our expert tips, instead we’ve done our research on the upcoming international fixtures.
We’re taking a look at Friday’s fixture, where Vincenzo Montella’s Turkey side take on Robert Prosinecki’s Montenegro team.
The two teams have had drastically different starts to the Nations League campaign, Turkey top the group and are yet to lose, while Montenegro have lost both of their games so far.
Turkey are clearly the better side, and will for sure be dominant in this fixture.
Turkey Predicted Line-up - Ugurcan Cakir; Mert Muldur, Merih Demiral, Abdulkerim Bardakci, Ferdi Kadioglu; Hakan Calhanoglu, Orkun Kokcu; Arda Guler, Irfan Can Kahveci, Kerem Akturkoglu; Baris Alper Yilmaz
Whilst Turkey were unlucky to be knocked out of Euro 2024 early in the knockout stages, they still did well to get to that stage of the competition.
Turkey’s squad is stocked with quality, and they have a wealth of impressive young players which will see them further progress in the coming years.
Captain Calhanoglu will be vital in midfield, who’s aged like fine wine in recent years.
Montenegro Predicted Line-up - Milan Mijatovic; Adam Marusic, Slobodan Rubezic, Igor Vujacic, Risto Radunovic; Milos Brnovic, Vladamir Jovovic; Driton Camaj, Stevan Jovetic, Nikola Krstovic; Stefan Mugosa
Montenegro have been pretty poor over the last year, losing their last four games and very much struggling to score goals.
Whilst they don’t have the strongest squad, they do have plenty of experience that could help them.
Captain Stevan Jovetic will be vital if Montenegro would somehow gain a result.
The two teams have met four times since 2016. Of which, Turkey have won two whilst Montenegro have won none.
This means two matches have resulted in draws.
16th November 2021 - Montenegro 1-2 Turkey - World Cup Qualification
1st September 2021 - Turkey 2-2 Montenegro - World Cup Qualification
27th March 2018 - Montenegro 2-2 Turkey - Friendly
29th May 2016 - Turkey 1-0 Montenegro - Friendly
Given the two teams current form, along with the head to head record, we think there’s an obvious result to back.
Turkey’s youthful and exciting squad will dominate the match, and almost certainly win by more than one goal.
We think overall the best value tip is Half-time Turkey/Full-time Turkey, backed up by our research.
Odds of 1/1 on QuinnBet mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £20 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
Turkey 3-0 Montenegro
Given the dominance we’d expect from Turkey, we think they’ll cruise past Montenegro.
The day before this fixture, England take on Greece in the Nations League.
