This Thursday’s Premier League clash sees Leicester City make the trip to face West Ham United at the London Stadium. This is a big match for both sides as will want to get as far away from the bottom three as possible.
Both teams head into this game in poor form with West Ham United slightly coming out on top. Over their last five games they have last three times, drawn once and won once with that win coming in their most recent match against second place Arsenal. Amongst those results have been some tough games, including matches versus Chelsea and Aston Villa. Leicester City on the other hand have been handed four losses, winning just the once against Tottenham Hotspur. This Thursday’s match will be vital in Leicester’s chances of remaining in the Premier League for next season.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
West Ham United Predicted Line-Up: Alphonse Areola; Emerson, Jean-Clair Todibo, Max Killman, Aaron Wan-Bissaka; Tomas Soucek, James Ward-Prowse; Carlos Soler, Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen (c); Evan Ferguson
West Ham United to a narrow victory against outside Premier League title challengers Arsenal, ending the four match streak without a win domestically. It marks manager Graham Potter’s second win in charge after taking over back in January. In total and West Ham have recorded eight wins, 12 losses and six draws from the 26 games they have played this season. Those results have left them with 30 points, a whopping 13 points ahead of opponents Leicester City.
In the reverse fixture Leicester did come out on top in a 3-1 affair at the King Power but now with this match being at the London Stadium, West Ham have a much better chance at all three points. The Hammers have been able to rely on captain Jarrod Bowen for a lot of their goals, seven of them in fact, accompanied with four assists. He is the club’s top goal contributor this season with almost double the amount of the next best in Tomas Soucek’s six involvements. Bowen could make the difference in consecutive weeks after his winning goal versus Arsenal on Saturday. If not Bowen then West Ham still have options like Mohammed Kudus who is lethal during a counter attack and James Ward-Prowse who is a wonder to have in deadball situations. Anyone of them could pose a problem for Leicester City this Thursday.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Leicester City Predicted Line-Up: Mads Hermansen; Victor Kristensen, Caleb Okoli, Wout Faes, Woyo Coulibaly; Wlifred Ndidi, Boubakary Soumaré; Stephy Mavididi, Bilal El Khannouss, Facundo Buonanotte; Jamie Vardy (c)
It was Leicester City’s head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy first game at the helm when his side went onto beat West Ham back in December but since then he has suffered a lot. From his last 12 games in the Premier League he has lost 10 of them. Returning back down to the Championship seems inevitable for Leicester after another loss over the weekend, this time a 4-0 thrashing from Brentford. After 26 games they now have four wins, 17 losses and five draws, leaving them with 17 points. With only 12 matches left to play in the Premier League, Leicester will need as many points as they can muster to avoid the drop zone seeing as their safety is still possible.
Only rock bottom of the Premier League club Southampton have earned fewer points on the road than Leicester this season, a measly eight points from their travels in the 2024/25 campaign. Leicester have the unfortunate mantle of being the only team in England’s topflight to not have managed to keep a clean sheet away from home this season, conceding 32 times in their 12 away days. On the other end of the pitch and The Foxes’ captain and Premier League icon Jamie Vardy have been the one delivering the goals for the team that is struggling in finding the back of the net. Vardy has found himself on the scoresheet seven times with three assists from 24 matches. The 38 year old has constantly found himself being the difference maker for Leicester and this Thursday doesn’t seem like he will get any respite in that department.
The last five faceoffs have been split in the favour of Leicester City, winning three times, drawing once and losing to West Ham once. Even with Leicester winning the last three consecutive games, the form they have been showing suggests that West Ham will take all three points this Thursday.

Leicester have struggled to offer much in an attacking sense this season with them being the third lowest scoring team in the Premier League. West Ham have shown they can put together good displays over their last couple of games and that should continue on into this Thursday’s affair.
For that reason, our betting experts have gone with West Ham United To Win as our best value tip for this game.
Odds of 8/13 mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £16.15 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
West Ham United 3-0 Leicester City
Leicester desperately need points to aid their efforts of escaping the relegation zone but they have been abysmal defensively. The confidence levels at West Ham will be high after their massive win against Arsenal on Sunday and they look like they can grab back-to-back wins this Thursday.
